If yours works then it's better than mine lol I've been asked to check the cd module inside the unit and if it's off or dead they are sending me a new one... Mine wouldn't load a cd at all...

The seller has been very good even though it's passed the 45 day paypal limit...

Very very helpful thread this one, im looking @ getting one of these headunits now.

my main concern was about everything working after install and other than the quad lock wires, which seems like it could be a little complicated the rest doesnt seem to hard....

so all the sounds bass/treble/mid range sound the same as the standard unit?

I would say that with a little tinkering it sounds the same but i'm no audio expert! Sounds fine to me when listening to all sorts like Metal, Dubstep and Abba it seems lol

The Quad cabling isn't too hard at all, if your just looking for something a little prettier then it's a good buy! with the USB function added in and the price now only £99 plus £25 p&p...

Cheers

Can I just add I have had this headunit for quite a while now, and I do really like it. Looks very good and does the job well. The pros have been really well covered, And the pictures in the original post shows how good the unit looks in the car.

Only two cons I have (1 Already covered)
Radio Stations : Nothing you can do - You get what you pay for.

If you want to store your music on the SD card, (As I have as my car doesn't recoinise my Galaxy S4), If you order your music by albums in folders you can't then shuffle all songs on the SD card, I have found that you basicly have the put the music on twice. ie Music albums in folders and then all the music copied onto one folder call All Songs which is really annoying, When you are wanting to re-arrange your music etc.

I'm hoping someone is telling me I'm doing it all wrong and is going to tell me what to do? Wishful thinkning I reckon haha!

The SD function is something I yet to try and ill have to get a card to see what I can figure out...

It would be quite a bit easier if these units came with an instruction manual lol

It will basicly just be like having a Pen Drive plugged in via USB if you have tried that?

I don't think there is anything we can do and that is just the way it is shame that you have to have all your music on the SD card is you want to have all your albums split into folders and also the ability to shuffle all your music.

Whats it like with your iPhone plugged in through your usb?

I'll try and find a USB pen and have a look see...

Working in IT you'd think I'd have one haha

The iPhone is quite good through USB great having it charge whilst driving... Although I cannot view the play lists on my phone but I can see all the artists etc...

I work in IT too so you would of thought I'd of been able to figure something out by now, I just don't think it is possible, I haven't even got my S4 connected to it yet, when I try connecting as a media device I just get a message on the screen saying 'Media Device not supported' Which is annoying haha!

Haha another IT worker here too. In regard to shuffling I've found with the RNS 310 you can have it on either 'Mix All' or 'Mix Folder', not sure if the same applies to this?

Oh and if you're after a manual found a scanned in copy here - http://www.davecandoit.com/Cars/vw/RCD510Manual.pdf

Legend!

It's all about IT people driving Leons lol just like I think people that drive saab's are all architects for no apparent reason...

The iPhone thing has a mix, scan and something I cannot think of... Could be something or could be the haribo I fancy eating that I left in the car...

Cheers

Looking at the manual, It does say you can have playlists stored on the SD card, How would you go about making a playlist on the SD card?

Page 29

I'm going to read up on this manual and see what I can work out when I have the power of google and being paid for it...

Please hold lol

My Cupra only has a USB slot under the drivers seat. If i got this unit, would that become redundant?

Also did you manage to get this to work with the car's bluetooth? e.g use the same microphone and work with steering wheel control?

Looks like a good unit, for me its a toss up between this unit and the kenwood satnav one.
