Where are you seeing this? I see the one on seat website and through the windows I can see the white stripe down the sides of the seats.

There is a 360° interactive image here, drag to spin.

I have blown it up here, you can see the headrests are similar to the Mk2 Cupra, they are all one element rather than a separate small headrest.

Sure it wasn't an FR?

Unless it just had the full aero dynamic kit. It was an SC. It could of been, I've seen Jag F-Type's before they were released. Sometimes they release a few early to certain people

If you were to see one on the road early, Milton Keynes would be a safe bet given the VAG UK HQ, but would find it very unusual 3 months before release

Il go have a scoot round later see if I can spot it.. I spotted the MK2 LCR ages before it was meant to be in the UK.

Chances are though it wont be a Cupra.

This isn't as unusual as it sounds.

I work for a different brand and on the day of our press release all the senior managers picked up there new cars that we'd just announced hours earlier.

They get asked to provide feedback internally.

Trials start months before the press release so they tend to be trial bodies registered to the company. The only unusual thing is that I expected the trial bodies to stay in the home market.

Get looking Andrew. [B)]

Looks like they are available to order immediately as production began from late last year, there may be stock coming in March April, dealer demos.

If its a factory order then you'd need to check with a supplying dealer for an accurate time slot, but I would assume they will fit them in under the usual 8-10 weeks.

The timings above are estimates on when production will begin, so it would appear the DSG's are first out of the starting blocks, with the lower powered manual only model starting production soon. Then the higher powered 280 manuals starting production from March.

Of course that's all subject to change, the dealers will get the latest evolving info.

Take those MPG figures with a pinch of salt, it aint that much different to the MK2, better yes but only by around 5 mpg when compared with my last car at the minute.

I havnt really tested the eco settings out yet though, that's all a bit

To be fair Rob , no new car meets the quoted mpg figures , mpg will improve as the mileage is added.
And I bet your right foot is saying fook the mpg lol I know mine would be

I know I've only done under 2k miles, but I haven't seen about 41mpg On the drive to Devon and I'm supposed to get 57mpg extra urban lol the figures are very exaggerated. I'm sure though I've read somewhere that real world results gave shown the s3 as being more efficient than the Gti somehow! It'll no doubt get better but they're really stretching the truth this time round lol

Looks really good, very impressed by it! Interior maybe a bit dull but as a car it seems to deliver in all areas. Guess the big question remaining is the price!

EDIT: £28,225 for the SC 280 DSG seems reasonable to me. Definitely onto a winner here! :D

Top Gear still think that there will be a 4wd cupra r later this year.

wonder if this story has got legs?

Just seems a far quicker development of the product than SEAT have historically shown.

If it was Audi or VW we were talking about, I'd have much less doubt. While SEAT appear to be turning a corner with product choice, and certainly are on the road to start showing a profit after many years of debt.

I think its a too quick a development for them to get a car like this signed off. I know there has been genuine talk of an AWD ST possibly before the year is out, and maybe some rags are putting two and two together and getting five.

I'd certainly like to see SEAT give us a top flight performance model like an AWD Cupra R, but just think that this year or even next is pushing the realms of reality.

But you never know.
