First VCDS mods on my SC FR 1.8tsi

Hello!,

I got my VCDS cable and software version 12.12.0 the same day the dealer gave me my new car, Leon SC 1.8tsi with everything installed but the lane assist.

These are a couple of thins I did thanks to the user terryt:

Carbon Fiber background on cluster display!

Lap Timer (pretty usefull on the track I imagine)

I also activated the dip mirror function, when you put reverse and your mirror adjustment control is set to L (or R in LHD cars), the passenger mirror dips so you can see the curb.
And the staging option (needle sweep).

The one I've been struggling with is the rain closing feature, I activated the first part but since the instructions are in german....eventhough I used google translator, its kinda hard and it didn't work the first time I tried it...

Excuse my ignorance here but I assume this is an auto window/sunroof closure feature when rain starts and your not around. That being the case what do you mean the first part?

I'm thinking it rains, window closes, where's the 2nd part ..I'm obviously on the wrong train of thought here, feel free to enlighten

He means the first part of the settings you need to change in VCDS, haha.

No it is not, it's like a preset position. It is useful.....but I would love to adjust it to my personal needs....aaaanyway, at least it works! Hehehe

Exactly!! Sorry if I didn't explain myself. The first part is activating the feature on the ecu. The second is to show that menu on the easy connect system and having the habilitation of turning it on or off from there. I finally did it but it doesn't work

I locked the car, left open a windows and the sunroof. Waited about 2 min and spayed some water on the sensor. Nothing happened maybe if I wait longer before I spray?

I've enabled the laptimer using VCDS, but it's not showing up on the DIS, is there anything else that needs to be done to get the laptimer to show?

Are you sure you successfully did it then. Have you re-read the values to verify the coding has stuck/taken?
When I did it, it immediately showed in the DIS as another main menu item.

Nope, for that you need to go to the brakes module and in the "measuring blocks" section, select acceleration. It will measure the 0-100km/h time of each wheel with the abs sensor.

Try it again pal, it's supposed to show on your DIS immediately after you code it with the vcds

Got rid of the ignition on bong and the needle sweep working a treat. Need to find the sound actuator, the list was huge and in German, so will have a proper look through the options. Thanks for posting these up!!

A friend of mine sold it to me. I think he bought it from eBay. I could ask him to sell you one but I'm in Mexico...I think the Shipping will be expensive

What I can do is upload the installer to the 12.12.0 version I use..

I managed to activate the Staging on mine using a 12.10.3 cable, but couldn't get any of the other functions working, so I'm assuming a 12.12 will be needed.

On a side note, does anyone know if it is possible to active the Passenger mirror dipping function if you don't have the Automatic folding mirrors ?
I'm asking this because mine came without this pack (dealer screwed up), and I really miss the mirror dipping function
