Then the car was off the road for a good 6-7months due to wiring problems.
Not really going to go into detail with it all as it angers me and all I want to do is forget about that period of my life haha.
All you need to know is it took

- Replacing two lambda probs
- Frying two ECU’s
- New Accelerator Pedal

And splashing a total of about £800+ to get the car back on the roads and fully working… Mega depressing!!!

But while it was off the road for that length of time I had been tidying the car up…

Cleaned up the calipers and painted them along with the discs...

The blue was looking faded out, so got a blue which I thought was the closet match to the .:R32 blue

I know the black paint is all over the discs and untidy looking, but once I started using the brakes they wore away the excess paint and give it a nice clean cut finish ...

Also touched up the stone chips etc on the alloys while I was waiting for the coats to dry!

Nothing major, just wee touches... Amber to chrome indicator bulbs.

Bought and fitted 6000k anti glare bulbs for my HID's to replace the standard 7000k ones I had before.

Got some tailor made mats as the old ones had seen better days...

They look sweet, really freshen up the interior

Got a new set of plates to replace my pressed metal ones... Plain and simple.

Got it MOT'd and taxed in April and back on the road

Was down in England around June time and parked up too the newer Cupra so got some snaps...

Bought parts to make up a short shift....

Short shift fully fitted y0... Feels amazing! :mrgreen:

Fitted a decat while the short shift was getting put together

Had some complications as its for a Golf GTI so it doesn't exactly fit right.
Fouled the bulkhead and rattled like a mother ****er inside the car, dash jumped about like crazy haha.
So got the car booked into Stainless-Creations to get it altered and made to fit…

All measured up and fits perfectly once bolted on... No more rattling/vibrations = Win!

New coolant bottle for the bay...

Bought some wind deflectors also...

I was planning on buying a new LCR Splitter but seeing as there about £50odd that I don't exactly have as I'm mega skint.
I decided just to sort the one that’s on it the now and get it looking factory again.
Turned out a treat, plastic welded up all the cracks and then textured sprayed it black so it looked as good as new...

Looks mince without a splitter lol...

Finished splitter back on...

Clutch starting slipping moooonths ago, so I'd been granny driving everywhere while saving for a new one

Got a VR6 clutch and G60 flywheel to get rid of the dualmass crap!

Out with the old and in with the new, as you can see it is pretty fubar'd, right down to the metal in areas haha

Replaced the crappy Dual Mass Flywheel with the Solid G60 one. Comparison shoot ....

That'll be me from buying expensive things for a while.

Need to save for uprated engine mounts and full polybush kit... next on my list. :roll:

Was looking at into getting a heat shield for my air filter.

But Jetex and all they companies where wanting something like £150+ for one... SACK THAT!

So decided I would make my own at my work, shouldn't be too difficult

Used cardboard to measure it out and mock up a template, took a wee bit of time to do...

After that was done. I took it too my work to get drawn up in a program to be transferred to get cut out on the laser.
Got the sides bent then the seams welded up then the welds polished.
Used some rubber edge stuff to protect it from scratching the bodywork. Then it was finished...

Sits good... Nice and tightly fitted, no movement! I'm impressed and proud off my wee creation!

Right, since I fitted my decat everything was good, but as the time went on it started to feel slower and sluggish, bit juddery at times too. Turns out its cause I hadn't spaced my second lambda out from the direct gas flow so both sensors where going mad trying to get the correct readings cause they were both reading the same due to there being no cat, which made it tell the ECU to pump more fuel in or not enough at all the wrong times. Dumb, dumb haha.

So I ordered this wee bad boy to solve the problem...

Took it for a blast after fitting and all is well and back to gidness!

Every time I look at my engine bay the rocker cover annoys the hell out of me cause its so minging ha. I've got a spare one to get powder coated, but want to source a a spare inlet manifold and get them both done at the same time. So in my spur of the moment-ness I decided I was just going to ghetto spray the one thats on the car. Had some hi-temp matt black in the unit so that got used

As you can see, its rank...

10x better than before. Not amazing, simply cause I never degreased it or that and it was just a quick bish bosh job at the end of the day.
But its so much better on the eye than before. Will do for now till I get the other powder coated

Will be ripping the AC and all the pipes out at some point to de-clutter the bay and cause I never use it.

Couple snaps from the DC.15 show I went too...

Bought these 16" Borbet C's...

Their for the Polo but I decided to test fit them on the Cupra just for something to do...

They look good on it........ Except the mega arch gap!

But when I was swapping them over I noticed my rear Seat alloys have like zero tread left, so looks like I'll be running these for a wee bit until I can buy 2 new tyres.

Good job I done this little swap, could have got stopped by the Police

Got the car all ready and sealed for the winter with the help from my valet mates by letting me use their products.

Finally got my tailpipes semi shinny and looking respectable

Fitted the Recaro's that were in my Polo as I missed the hug-able feeling!

On the other note, done a good bit of overtime just before and after the festive season. So decided to treat myself to some goodies.

Finally found centre caps for the Borbet's that would fit. Brand new too!

Got the centre console gauges from a Cupra R with the genuine gauges.

Just need to get them hooked up and working at some point.

And lastly, these bad boys arrived too.

Will hopefully get them fitted soon too.

That was a typo... It's actually only about a year and a half I've had it, not two and a half lol

Not yet, will try get them fitted this weekend or the next, whenever my mate is free with his ramp really. As its saves me doing it outside my house in the crap weather ha

Will let you know what there like once fitted. Should be like night and day for me as my current mounts are shot to hell. I have loads of engine movement atm.

Been slacking on updating this. A lot has been done recently.

Got a spare rocker cover to get powder coated

Didn't want these lug things as they were pointless

So away they went

Got a spare inlet manifold too. So I gave that a mega clean as it was filthy...

Back from the the coaters...

Crackle Black Inlet Manifold/Strut Brace and .:R32 Blue Rocker Cover

Got myself the full Powerflex kit...

Rear Axel Buhes (Black compound, harder material than the standard purple/yellow)

Rear Wishbone Bushes

Front Wishbone Bushes

Subframe Bushes

Started fitting all the back stuff...

First up was to tackle the rear bushes, what a ARSE of a job!

Stage 1, Burn baby burn

Stage 2, Knock the centre out

Stage 3, Chisel and air saw the rest out

Stage 4, Press the Powerflex bush in some way

Stage 5, Repeat all off the above for the other side

Next up was to fit the Neuspeed Rear ARB I bought a couple of weeks ago...

First problem I came across was I sheared off one of the droplinks rose joints. Bummer!

Got it welded up for the time being until I get a replacement

Was quite a cluster **** to fit it whilst lying on the ground lol...

All fitted!

Bought better top mounts...

Done slight modifying to make it 'set' better on the suspension top caps. Counter sank the hole at work...

When I was removing the rear struts I noticed the threads were pretty bad!

The previous owner that fitted them must have buzz gunned the death out of them!!!

Soooo I decided to bite the bullet and get these bad boys out...

They've been in storage for about 3 years as there for my Polo ...

Can only fit the rears though, as the front springs are too skinny to fit with the Ibiza top mounts.

Its ok though as my Weitec's are pretty much KW's

KW's + Polybushed top mounts = Sexual combo!

Much better!

Removed my OMP brace and fittted the Timsport brace from a Mk3 Golf...

These are the original adapters for the Golf...

So I took some measurements and sizes I would need to fit the Ibiza/Polo and made up a new adapters at work

This is the end result... Mine vs Original

While I was at it I took out the back seat belts etc as they weren't needed anymore

Finished result...

Time to do the front...

Bought new wishbones, ball joints and built them up and fitted the polybushes...

New track rod ends

New front top mounts and bearings also

Fronts off the car...

Old ones were shot to hell, mega play and pretty gritty.

Gave them a clean up too try match my shiny new rears

Fitted the front upper brace whilst I was doing all that!

Came across a problem when I was swapping over the wishbones.

The welded nut inside the subframe was stripped to hell, So had to cut a section out and nut and bolt it too secure the front wishbone bolt back in...

Welded the section back up then fitted the OMP lower brace

Total pain in the arse job but got there in the end! Phew!

Also got round to sorting the play in my exhaust...

Me being a dumb dumb forgot their is 2 holding up my backbox lol... So i'll order another and fit that

How the car is sitting after all the suspension mods etc...

Very happy with the way its handling and looks!

Done a few interior upgrades too...

Fitted the Momo Team wheel from the Polo...

Sooooo good too be using this wheel again!

Replaced these scabby numbers!

With some nice Audi pedals...

Got a nice carpet burn on my elbow fitting them haha

Also purchased these...

Just need to source some genuine Recaro subframes before I can fit them

Still need to fit my engine mounts and subframe bushes, but I shall get round to that soon!

Overdue update...

Sneaky shot of my car at a Rolling Road Meet

Went up to my Unit to get some work done...

Fitted the last of my exhaust mounts

Replaced my fuel filter, don't think its been done in a while has its was mega back the fuel coming out of it haha

Fitted a new panel/cabin filter also as it was a bit dirty...

Had to put the standard Cupra wheels back on as the tyres on the Borbets where needing replaced but I never had enough money for new tyres

Looks crap now. Boooo!

Tried some 20mm spacers up front as I had a spare set lying in the Unit...

They sat just a bit too close to the arch and scrubbed when turning hard on corners, so they came off!

Purchased some 10mm Eibach spacers instead with some longer bolts since they're not bolted hubcentric ones. And gave them a lick of paint before they got fitted

The extra 20mm overall wheelbase has made a noticeable difference in handling which is what I was hoping for, so happy days!

Recently parked up next to a standard Ibiza... They look so crap compared haha!

New wiper blades were needed...

Then it was time to get the tracking done, as it was a bit 'off'

Got a present from the mail man a week ago ...

Not in the greatest condition but with a refurb and powdercoat they will be mint again!

Would anybody be able to help me with where I can get my hands on centre caps for these? Need all four. Looked about on the net but found nothing, don't even know what size I need. I know they're different from the new GT ones that's about it lol Much help would be appreciated!
