I'm liking the sound of the plans for the track day. Sounds like its going to be a fun packed day.

They also had a look at my Mum and Dads Passat and managed to diagnose a fault that three other garages couldn't. I'm very picky about who I let work on my cars so I'm pleased to find someone locally like LVS, top people!

Always good to find a local garage you can look to as being skilled, really really helps with a project car :)

Mine only gets serviced at my mates locally as they treat it like my own and will spend as long as needed looking to sort the smallest issue if there is one. Can't get enough of places like this while they still exist.

Be interesting so see how it is after all the work, maybe a brief car swap at the next trackday?

Yeah or you could have a drive when I come down to pick those parts up. I'm interested to see what the rides like with those spherical bushes and check out your map.

I have to say a huge thank you to Andy and Pat from LVS Racing!!! They both went above and beyond what I expected in therms of customer service and quality of work. To find some where with such a high standard of work but also that will give honest advise and not rip you off is a godsend! Thankfully they're local to me as well which is a bonus.

First up Andy fitted a Blueflame 3"DP he had left over from a previous project. As they had used the sports cat he fabricated a de cat section for me. Originally he planned to remove the flanges and weld V bands in there place. However in case I want to swap the cat back at some point he left the flanges on but added V bands either side of the to make changing to a sports cat nice and easy.

On to the suspension and what a difference it's made. I had the Nuespeed 25mm front ARB, wishbones, steering rack poly bush and new ball joints fitted. Andy then did a fast road alignment set up. He found that with the caster increase bushes fitted he had to remove the tow in that he usually adds as the car was fidgety and followed the camber in the road to much. So at least that means they're doing what they supposed to! He also added 1.1 deg of negative camber to the front.
I haven't driven the car far yet but I went home on the back roads which I know well. The exhaust is louder but doesn't drone and isn't to bad on part throttle. It's made a hell of a difference though. Spool up is much quicker as you'd guess but my car feels a fair bit faster. You can feel it breathing easier.
After his initial test drive Andy asked what map I had on it and was surprised when I told him it was standard. It looks like all my hours of reading and asking stupid question on forums is paying off. I really want a large port head know to get the most of the increased flow!
The bushes in the wishbones that came off where in very poor condition. So there's no surprise that the new wishbones have made quite a difference. With havering so much fitted at once it's difficult to say for sure which parts are doing what. In a straight line and with small steering inputs the steering is nice and weighted. When you turn in its very sharp and caught me out how fast it responds. I'm going to need a big of time in the car to get used to the changes as it feels so different. I was concerned that the front ARB would induce so under steer but not a chance:D!
I'm going to have to find some time this weekend for a long test drive.

On a side not I also had a little drive of the LVSR demo car. It's a Audi 2.0t Quattro with a K04 running REVO stage two. Which was good fun but the VW Racing brakes and SMF paddle clutch took a bit of getting used to. Amongst other projects in the work shop was an old curtesy that's being turned into a track car.

It was a 1.4 know has a forged engine with GT28RS(I think!?), tubular manifold, externally gated, big brake and full cage. Andy plans to add aero as well so I may well have to watch his progress and pick his brains!

Roll on the track day!!!:funk:

What a top bunch of guys by the sounds of it! Glad you're happy with how your car is moving forward. If only I knew of them last year... only 60 miles away so I'll keep them in mind for some maintenance stuff :) it seems like the v2.2 is quite a step up from the v1. Will you consider a map this year to really make the most of all that flow? Marham is having a charity track day weekend this weekend. Some top motors hooting around. Looks brilliant fun. I bet you're looking forward to your booked track day now... :)

Great stuff dude, glad to hear you've had the same great experience down at LVSR as I've always had too! :funk:

They do fill you with confidence and their honesty is great too.

You really do need to get a map on the car now matey, at least it wasn't just me who thought it had been mapped! ;)

Even if I don't manage to get out on track on the LVSR Blyton day I'll get up there and have a mooch about! :D

Oh, and I've been lucky enough to have the A3 as a courtesy car on a couple of occasions, was funny seeing people's reactions when I told them it was a courtesy!

If you need anything doing to your car, you could do worse than LVS. I'd travel and have in the past for the service you get there.
I'd say the V2.2 is better than the V1 which was pretty good any way. Bills TIP are great and I'd recommend anyone thinking of buying a TIP to pay the bit extra and get one. I keep toying around with the idea of getting mapped. I think I'd rather sort out shocks/springs or coilovers, WMI and rods first. I like the idea of the map being the cherry on the cake. The spending has got to stop for a while though!
I can't wait for the track day as whether I enjoy it or not will have an influence on future mods.

Thanks for recommending them they are a real find! They're great people to talk cars to as well.
I'd didn't realise you weren't doing the track day?!

Great update Redbull, shes maturing into a real beast. I really fancy your decat setup.

The decat is a work of art and its made a big difference. It's great read people's RR's like yours to find out what works.

Have you not got a spacer in there for the O2 sensor?

Good point I had one to be fitted!

Not sure yet matey, it all depends if I can get the day off or not! :(
Even if it sells out then I'll be able to get on track, Andy will sort me out! ;)

I was hoping you'd take me out first thing so I could check out your lines!

Get it mapped!!!!!!!! :D

I keep thinking that but I've got to be patient and do it right first time. I'm on the look out for an AGU block to rebuild.

Today I mostly fitted new two new fog light grills, S badge and grill courtesy of Dave at Sere motors.

Just read this entire RR from page 1 - 28. Girlfriend is now pissed off for being ignored for the last 2 hours but it was well worth it!! So many ideas are running through my mind now! Great write up and car!
