Lets have a look tomorrow. The only problem I can see though is that if you move the filter into the spot where the battery currently sits, how/where can you mount it and the air box cover? Your not keen on the open cone look are you. You will probably need to build a custom cover

I've got a plan for covering it mate [B)]

My latest lower splitter decided it didn't want to be part of my car anymore a few weeks ago :(

There wasn't enough support in the center so at speed the center of the splitter most have been flapping around, I did notice the lack of support when it was in the air during the oil change a did last month.

Versions so far
V1; 6mm Ply painted with gloss black paint, this was only a trial to see what it would look like and get the shape right, it was never going to stay on the car.

V2; 6mm Ply wrapped in Carbon Fibre, to get the lead edge the right shape I had to file the edge to shape which meant the lead edge wasn't sealed against the weather, this allowed water to get in between the ply's and eventually blow them apart.

V3: 6mm High density foam board, this was almost perfect :), easy to cut, correct colour to start with and light, the only down side was the flexibility, If I'd been able to get a center support in it might have been fine but this is pretty difficult due to the lack of space under the rad and FMIC.

V4; 9mm exterior ply, Being twice the thickness of the other 2 there is no flex at all so a center support shouldn't be needed.
This one will be fully wrapped in Carbon so this time there will be no bare edges for the weather to get into.

Shape marked out, I've added another 10mm (ish) to the over all size.

Test fit

I want to round the top lead edge off a bit to soften it up a bit and then it will be fully wrapped in 2 twill carbon fibre :) I ordered it today so should hopefully be here tomorrow.

Ive got a splitter on my ibiza under LCR one.

Mines made from tough 6mm plastic. Really strong.

I added support to the middle as was i having a flapping problem too. I drilled 2 holes where the "uprighty bits" are on the LCR splitter and the bumper and put a M8 threaded bar between the uprighty bits with a nut and washer under the lower splitter and inside the bumper. The upright bits hide the support bar nicely and ive not had a problem since.

Car is looking real good btw :)

Any particular reason for the extra splitter or purely cosmetic?

A little confused as to why, after the issues some people/person had with a huge splitter.

I was looking at putting a bolt inside the supports but it's very tight under there unless I take the bumper off.

stunning carbon work as always Darren. That's going to be might low....

Cheers mate ;)

Partly cosmetic and partly to protect the standard LCR splitter where I've had it painted.

stupid question Darren but are you using the whole of the MDF bit in its block shape or is it being trimmed down further?

The back will be shaped to allow the under tray to be removed without having to take the splitter off, I'm hoping to get it ready for wrapping during the week so I'll get some more pictures up soon
