I have new rear discs and pads, front yellow stuff pads and braided lines for my Leon.

I fitted my rear (brembo)discs/pads and rear hoses and I am hoping to fit my front setup tomorrow and bleed it all through with ATE superblue.

Anyone got any tips on bleeding? Is there a special sequence?

Any help would be great.:D

I'd only use a proper pressure bleeder, too many stories of people having failed servo servo seals when you manually bleed by the brake pedal.

If you can't get hold of one- gravity bleed first, till fluid runs from all bleed nipples (one at a time)
Then manually bleed.

Start with the caliper furthest away from master cylinder, which is the nearside rear,

Actually due to the routing of the brake pipes its the o/s/r that has the furthest distance from servo to caliper

Always bleed the master cyclinder as loads of people miss this and end up with a poor, verging on dangerous brake pedal.

Depends on model I saw a post a few months back that explained but most are near side rear, also there are 3 nipples in the engine bay the 2 on the reservoir I think the furthest back first. Haha I don't know but I'll be doing it this week

Did you follow any guides for the pipes ? I need to change my caliper and I'm not sure how one would stop the brake fluid falling out?

On any RHD mk4 golf based car the caliper with the longest pipe routing is always the o/s/r as the master cylinder is on the o/s/f, the pipes then run across the bulkhead and under the passenger floor pan, the o/s/r then splits off over the fuel tank, the n/s/r just goes to the axle flexi - so the o/s/r has about 3 more foot of distance to travel.

This is the same for ibizas, arosas, alteas in fact almost any RHD VW group vehicle.

There are 2 bleed nipples associated with the brakes yes, both on the master cyclinder - the other is on the clutch slave cylinder and has no bearing on the brake system at all.

Crack open the bleed nipple on the caliper you're replacing then depress the brake pedal, once depressed use something to hold it down and whilst its held down it will not allow any more fluis through. Or buy a flexi clamp.

I did think o/s/r was the longest, how do I bleed the master cyl? Do I need to do the clutch slave as well? How much fluid will I realistically need?

With the pressure bleeder or easy-bleed attached you just crack the back one off then the front, the nipples are only 7/8mm so you need to be careful.

1.5/2.0 litres will be more than enough.

You don't need to bleed the clutch for the sake of the brakes, no.

Are they easy enough to get to? I'll leave the clutch be I think. So o/s/r...n/s/r...then fronts then master cyl? Thanks for your help mate.

Where are the bleed nipples on the master cylinder for mk2 leon reference sport 2007. From what I can see there doesn't appear to be one.
