With the house move finally here, I got the car out of the garage and got her ready for the road trip to sunny Norfolk… Usual stuff really. Here are a few shots as she stands…

Sorry mate my bad :p

Good stuff though. Love the attention to detail you go to. Not sure anyone else goes as far as you?

It's a pain sometimes Tom, trust me :( Hense why progress with my car has stalled so many times. Good job I'm in it for the long haul... :) it's going to hold its own if I have anything to do with it.

Today's progress saw a bit more polishing. I've removed the rocker cover and polished the prominent bits, whilst deciding to paint the inner bit in aliminum high temp paint. The reason for this being that it's quite intricate work, and for a piece that will never see the light of day, it just wouldn't be worth all those extra hours. It's in the dish washer at the mo doing a couple of cycles to get the last of the burnt oil off the underside. Tomorrow I'll paint the inner bit and apply some wax, then that's another thing off the list. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

I've bought a 4bar FPR today as well :)

Oh, and still no arrival of baby Parkin...

Yeah I see your point mate. The best cars aren't rushed though :)

Good effort on the work today, you're right about the bits you won't see though. Not worth putting so much time into those.

Really need to see your car one day mate :)

It'll be great to meet you all one day soon. Even if my car isn't with me for Players, I'm gonna make the trip over this year, so if your still thinking about going, I'll catch you there defo. I want see what all this 300bhp/300ft lbs fuss is about... ;)

I managed to finish off my rocker cover today.

I’m pretty happy with the outcome. It’s not perfect but as it’ll never see the light of day, the standard is more than sufficient. If it was a piece that was visible (no engine cover) I’d have polished the inner too rather than spraying that. The polished bits have a nice even and flat mirror finish.

The new gasket arrived this morning so the rocker cover is now back on the car. I’m just waiting on some SS nuts and bolts to button it down. I’m also trying to source a Coil Pack Harness Cover, which was originally fitted the Mk5 Golf GTI. I’m not keen on buying from the States, so I’ll keep looking. I’ve emailed Dave at Sere Motors; hopefully he can locate one for me.

My Inlet Manifold to Throttle body Gasket and Injector Seals arrived from Dave at Sere today. My 8mm silicone hose and clamps arrived from Forge also.

I now have everything (bar the non-return valve for PVC removal) to remove/re-fit the Inlet Manifold so that’ll be tomorrow’s job, if the baby doesn’t arrive :D

Holy ****!!

Fancy doing mine?

No...No...No... This was by far the least enjoyable job. Hated doing it but glad it's done!. I must have had a poor cast; loads on pitting and cast marks

That must have taken some time, looks nice :)

Rocker cover looks awesome mate :D

Thanks guys! Appreciate the comments :)

That looks amazing. Every time you update your thread I expect news of your new arrival.

I know. I'm craming in as much 'selfish time' as I can before the baby arrives, whilst trying to keep my wife well supported and happy. The car is in bits so a few more long days would be good :)
