I've just been driving my dads A3 black edition with the Bose speakers and the tweeters on the pillar and the sound is immense! No vibrations and great quality love to know how much it would cost to get that set up lol

whats the dynamat like? Did you cover the whole door card with it?

I got it done by a local in car audio place, but they did the whole door I believe. Do have an extra rattle on one of the doors now I didn't have before but I'll take that back and get them to tweak it. Otherwise it sounds really good!

Just a quick update... I've had the work done now so got my inifinity 6x9's in the stealth shelf and some nice phoenix gold components up front with the front doors dynamatted.

Difference is huge, they're still bedding in for the next 6 hours or so but sound is getting better all the time. Definitely need to bin the original tweeters.

How much did it cost? All in...

£210.

That was for running a cable to the boot for the 6x9's and quick connectors so I can take it out. Phoenix gold components up front with both doors dynamatted and a new FAKRA aerial adapter as mine had fallen to bits for some reason.

Really happy with the service there, friendly and knowledgable staff. They've got a mk1 Leon they use for their demo car. Epic Accessories in Oadby

sound deadening is a must yes! I listen to dnb/hiphop/jungle/techno so it gets a bit rattly when i turn it up atm. gonna use the new tweeters as i know theyll be designed to work together with the speakers and the crossover properly, barring any fitment issues i find along the way. ill be doing self install aswell, i know my way around cables etc so im pretty confident. wont be til next month now though as i need some pennies first!!

I had my tweeters fitted in the original locations... sounding good and looks completely standard upfront which I like with the added surprise of excellent sound quality :D

I was advised not to go with Alpine for components though? worth checking around I was just told they were a little overpriced for the quality... it's a mine field though everyone has an opinion!

What did you go for in the end? I take it, it all still came in a pack...?

I got Phoenix Gold components and recycled my 10 year old infinity 6x9's. Wasn't in a pack as got it installed at an local car audio place, just what they recommended.

Speakers were about £95 on their own, they originally recommended some Pioneers at £150 but was stretching my budget a bit.
