Obvious answer to that would be a bad MAF. They'll hit your MPG if they go on the wonk and if they're properly shot the TCS light comes on - MAF readings are required for the TCS/ESP to work properly. Have you any way of checking it, i.e. VAGCOM/VCDS or a liquid gauge, for example?

Maybe a bit late now but you can also try disconnecting it and drive about, if the car feels any better then you know it's shagged. The TCS light will come on and stay on if it's disconnected, eventually the car will go into limp mode until you connect it again.

Front ARB is a nice mod, it's more subtle than I was led to believe. I only really notice it if I'm pushing on quite hard, but then I got the Golf R32 23mm one, the Neuspeed is likely stiffer so you may feel it more obviously. Have you done the rear one yet?

Thanks someone else motioned that it may be the MAF. I was planning on buying a new MAF and N75 valve before mapping anyway. My cars driving really well at the moment so I guess it's time that something else went wrong lol.

I've got a 28mm Nuespeed rear ARB fitted to the medium setting and the front is 25mm. I'm really happy with the way the cars coming on. I just need to have a think how far I'm going to go with it before I start saving for my weekend car.

Wouldn't bother with a new N75 yet, wait until it's mapped, if you find it's not meeting requested boost, not holding it or sounding funny on boost then try a new one. I had a slight flutter on boost sound after I'd fitted the Badger 5 TIP after boosting, N75 made no difference. That said I do know some found it helped. They rarely go wrong. If your garage can read airflow then that should give an idea on the state of your MAF, if it reads OK then there's probably something else causing the TCS light, but the fact that your economy is down as well makes me think MAF.

I know it's not a Whiteline front ARB you've got but this chart gives an idea of the increase in stiffness between your stock (19mm) LCR ARB and the 28mm Neuspeed - http://www.whiteline.com.au/docs/bulletins/BL-281.pdf

So mine is a little over double the stiffness of the LCR one, your Neuspeed is close to five times as stiff - guess you may well find a bigger difference there :)

I said I wasn't spending any money on mine this year as I want something new after our wedding in April. Somehow managed to get a new set of wheels, new suspension and couple of other wee odds and ends and we're still in January, WTF!

MPG on the way to work went down from 34/36 when the EML came on with regards to the efficances of first cat last year. I'm hoping the new per cat lambda will sort this out as on the same run now I'm getting 26/28 mpg. This morning I got 20.6! So it looks like your correct about the MAF.
It's interesting about the ARB I didn't realise it'd be that much stiffer.
You're right about spending money I've got to slow it down a bit and fit all the bits I already have.

At least it's a healthy obsession. Ten years ago all my money went on beer, kababs and clothes. I do sometimes think I should have a few weeks away from the forums and FB. Nah.

We all need help....

Well cars dropped off and it'll be finished tomorrow afternoon. I've got tomorrow off and some good roads on the way home so will be looking forward to picking it up.
Also thanks to Tim this was waiting for me when I got home.

January is such a long depressing month I think we all just chucked in the towel and gave in to some mods to cheer ourselves up :D

Well the ARB's not being fitted. The rear wishbone bushes have collapsed and fallen through the wishbone. So I've been driving around with the wishbones resting on the subframe. So the wish bones are getting polly bushed instead and the ARB will have to wait a couple of months.

Shame about this but polybushing is a good move! I've got full superpro on mine and quite like it!

I was hoping to fit them later in the year. I haven't been overly impressed with the lack of feel in the steering. I guess this could be part of been a reason:whistle:

Bushes really improved the feel/feedback through the wheel mate.

Superpro kit doesn't come with the one extra steering rack bush, but you can get that done too. I asked AmD to sling that in aswell, literally wanted all of them done that were going to refresh the chassis :)

Must do IMO.
