Did a few bits on the old girl today.

Bought a few bits from David @ Sere a while ago, new under tray and the 2 side plastic pieces, new fittings and screws etc. Will be good to be able to drive the car without scraping the underside of it everytime.

Bought myself some new BKR7EIX plugs from OPIE as well so whipped them in.

Going to be ordering myself a new brake setup soon as the standard LCR discs just haven't been able to keep up. Narrowed it down to a few options...

How much all in for the undertray and 2 separate side parts to it mate? Mine's seen better days but I'm not rushing to do it, lol.

8 pot brakes? Porsche?

Decided against the porsche brakes to be honest, think they will give too much of a 'soft' due to the larger volume of brake fluid required to fill the caliper. I'm either going to get myself a set of 2 piece 330mm discs with DS2500/DS3000 pads or go for a Forge 6 Pot brake kit.

The undertray and 2 side bits i got of Dave @ Sere for £120 delivered. This was a special price as he had the undertray in stock that he wanted to get rid of.

Got a new bumper coming soon as well that is going to the bodyshop to be painted.

Fair enough then mate. Can see you're trying to go for something with more 'race feel' to it then? Will the Forge 6 pot kit give you this? DS3000's are the more track focused pads, so you'll want those for next year when you bring her out to play ;)

That's a great price. I doubt I'll even get close to that, but may ask in the near future to see what he can do.

Good work on the bumper too! Need to get a couple of marks sorted on mine next year. Doing everything mechanical first though!

Yer the forge 6 pot's look nice, they are used on their 450bhp MK5 GTi which has been round berg a few times. Also the 2 piece discs are being used a few race cars as well.

I was just thinking that the porsche brakes would add unsprung weight which is the opposite of what i'm wanting to do really...Watch this space...

Good stuff :)

Look forward to seeing which way you go. Seems Forge though doesn't it ;)

Andy Lang runs a Forge brake kit on his tracked prepped MK1. Not sure if that's his user name on here but I've got him on facebook.

Why are there so many messers on eBay! Put my bumper on there with strict collection only from UK buyers. Somebody from Finland buys it now and then emails to say he's got no money to pay for it!! FFS!!

I have no idea what is wrong with these people mate.

They wake up thinking, 'yeah I'll go on ebay today and buy a bumper for my Leon' - without any comprehension of checking their bank account first.

Idiots mate. Utter idiots.

It really is infuriating!

Relisted now anyway...

Have you got it on pistonheads parts for sale section mate? It's free to list..

I always put my vag stuff on there and facebook first before ebay to try to avoid fee's.

Bits of winter maintenance to do on the old slag 306 tomorrow.

Major service time, Cambelt, full oil changes, glow plugs, should be as good as new. Currently got 150k on the clock and going strong. Hasn't had a belt change for 6 years done last at 80k so it's probably overdue and I plan on keeping it for a while as a run around such a simple engine and reliable too not something you can say about many French cars.

Better French cars are the slightly older one's!

Just like the MK1 and MK2 Leon's.. older are more reliable (waits for someone with a MK2 to comment) - no cam follower issue on ours though ;)

Should run well after all that mate. Enjoy the cold!

Very true mate.

She'll run like a dream after I'm sure. Will keep you going fine until the warmer months when you can get the beast back on the road :D
