Big is beautiful right! Now running a new massive pipercross air filter. Must of added at least 15bhp and the car definitely feels more eager low down..........

Nah only kidding. Did it for looks to be honest. Difference in performance between filters are so small I doubt any of us would be able to notice it unless its a right piece of crap or not fitted properly.

Old filter:

Sounds nice like my jetex filter did and most importantly I believe the look of this filter suits my bay more than the jetex did so jobs a goodun :D

Is it dry foam or oiled? Both AKS and r tech are recommending these filters so can't be bad. What does it sound like compared to a cotton filter?

To be honest I'm not keen on foam filters. You're right about there not being much difference between filters though, I've got a giant Green Cotton one to go on mine, not because I'll see an improvement, simply to fill the gap when I move the battery to the boot.

Dry foam mate. Has 3 layers of filtration, and meant to be high flowing so should work well. Noise wise, me and Darren (D.K) both thought it sounded a touch louder than the jetex with the same hardcore sucking noise and the DV dump that I crave so much ;)

That's the thing mate, many get a bit deluded thinking there is a massive difference in their cars performance when they fit parts but in reality there probably really isn't any difference. I have seen those massive green filters, a must for filling up the gap when you move the battery. This filter is the biggest I would go for the space, if I were to move the battery then I would most likely go down your route

Although back to back logging done on my car of a green panel filter vs the huge cone gave something like 11g/s improvement
Seems like ive sparked an idea for people running massive filter if the battery has gone

Good work by the 'ED' side of TED yesterday mate. :)

Filter is big! I can now confirm as I've just seen Darren's myself. It also sounds throatier than the jetex. But as said, gains if any are going to be marginal. Looks better in black than blue in the bay plus my jetex is getting on and I usually just replace the whole unit than carry on washing an old haggered one.

Looking forward to early part of next year mate when you line up some new shoes for the old girl ;)

Very good point mate. Moving that battery out of the way and fitting the filter in its place will no doubt be a better set up and one which I was thinking about doing for a while. I have (for now) decided to keep it in its current placement and tried to get the best all rounder for my needs which are gains, filteration, looks and very importantly noise.........yes I am a sucker for that noise :D

Cheers mate. Yeah looking forward to my plans coming together over the next few months ;)

Depends what you are after really. So far iv tried a few open cones, metal mesh which sounded the nuts is piss poor at filteration so soon got changed for the jetex which I have enjoyed until now where I fancied a change for the pipercross for the looks element mainly. Heat shields, you are better off making one or getting someone to make it for you as most companies are taking the piss with their prices for these. Think Jabba charge near £100 if not more for the shield I got :ban:

Yeah around £90 for the jabba now, but could be more lol.

Don't get me wrong, I love mine, but you're much better off making one now. I paid around £70 for my jabba quite a while ago now.
