Can't seem to take the car anywhere without it trying to make love to the tarmac. Whilst walking back to the car I noticed how close the splitter got to touching. Bare in mind this is my new 'raised and sensible height' lol

Fitted my recently purchased smoked rear lights today. Tedious job, especially for winter with frozen fingers.

Quick pic taken after I fitted one side to show the difference. Looks like someone gave my car a black eye

Then both sides fitted.

Going to take them off again and clean up the insides and fit new seals around them. I can tell the seals are giving up seen as they have some dirt inside and some moisture. Happy with the overall look, will do something to the chrome S badge as it does seem to stick out a bit too much now.

I then went for a drive and the devil in me got the best of me.........did something a little naughty whilst driving. Long story short I have been hit with another fine for the illegal number plates so will have to bite the bullet and get normal ones :ban:

I am thinking about a set of road legal Carbon Fibre Resin Gel style plates like these >> 3D UK LEGAL Carbon Fibre Resin Gel Car Number Plates 24 Anyone had any experience with these? They look good from the pics.

How are you finding this height? i think this looks exactly how i want mine too look

Could I get the heights on this as I'd like to know a useable height, first question though how do you get on with speed humps? Especially those island ones (not the full road width).
Looking at getting an LCR in the next week or so and it took forever to get my Cooper S to the right "useable" height.

Also could I ask who Tabar in Bexleyheath is as I'm SE London and need a good garage recomended.

Cheers.

I was thinking something along those lines :)

Cheers mate. I hate Darren for constantly sending me stuff to buy but at the same time I am grateful for it as these are a lovely touch indeed

You weren't dogging were you?

I would NOT put it past him ;)

:ban:

errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmm

love that splitter:D

Cheers mate. DK splitter is a awesome mod, can't wait to finish off the look at the front to really set it off. Waiting for the winter season to come and go before I start doing it all

Hi mate, measurements are as followed (all tyres pumped to 33psi)

Measurement from the floor to the top of the arch
- Fronts: 63.5cm
- Rears: 64.5cm

Measurement from the centre of the wheel to the top of the arch
- Fronts: 33cm
- Rears: 33.5cm

Give or take about 0.1-0.3mm on measurements due to uneven surface, tyre wear etc etc

You still need to be careful with speed bumps but I seem to be getting on a lot better with them now. I now have a second splitter under the OEM one which is about 5mm thick so the car would get on even better with bumps without this. Those island bumps are simply a pig, I don't go over them like most. Instead I tend to go between two of them and take them on that way.

Taber is a garage in Bexleyheath (Barenhurst Road), it is a very small place (one man army - Dan Taber) but he is a very honest mechanic and knows these cars largely due to him owning a S3 and also his mate has a LCR. I met him through somebody else who had a A3 and was getting him to do a KO3 to KO4 conversion on the car.

I tend to use a mix of people with my car: Dan Taber, AMD in Essex, and also my friends who are absolute car nuts and one being a master mechanic at Mazda so they have helped me loads over the years.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else.

Cheers much appreciated.

Saw you lived in SE London (or speedhumpsville as I like to call it) so thought I'd see how you were getting on with a lowered LCR, My Cooper S was a mare when I first moved over here so much so I had to cut the bottom splitter and pin up the front bumper (it has the aftermartket JCW Kit) once it was on coils and it wasn't even bought down that much.

Good to hear there is someone local that knows these cars, does he have diognostic kit as I'l take it straight over for a full health check when I get it?

Just noticed your in Lewisham.....................................good luck mate  Lewisham council hate us low riders. I have now moved to Bickley which is much better now but I still was able to get around everywhere in Lewisham when I lived in Catford.

I believe he does yeah. I'd suggest giving him a quick if you decide to go down the LCR route. 01322 525 830 - that should be his work number. If you can't get through let me know and I will pm you his mobile. Just tell him the pain in the ass grey LCR sent you, he should know it is me after that :p
