You need to just replace the smd's with a new colour. Basically they are the 3528 which I got off an eBay interior car light (had about 16 smd's on it) and I just desoldered them and used them as the replacements.

As for the window controls, just pull off the long plastic door trim (along the grab handle starting at the end away from the speaker...there is a small slot at the bottom end) and the window electronics unclip (the standard yellow clips holding all the plastic trim on). Pull the control unit apart and there are the smd's...just unsolder them and swap over.

It's also the same for the climate control unit which I have done previously. The hardest ones are the centre console lock/tire pressure etc. buttons!

Today we went to Sheffield and back to help mi pa, I tried hard to "safely" put my foot down a good few times to get it to go into limp mode but it wasn't not working today and before I knew it I was going way way too fast.

A Busy Day

Had the car a week, finally a chance to clean it properly, cant believe the state of the paint work for a brand new car, so Washed, Iron X, Tardis, Wash, Clayed, Washed, machine polished, and sealed, hard work in the sun but its looking better,
Also replaced the sidelights & DRL's with Leds looks much better

Yesterday swapped my alloys front to read after having some new boots on the front :) and also gave my alloys a clean on the inside , never been done before , they were caked !

Only thing I wish is when tyre fitters fit new. Ance weights they remove the old sticky compound ! That stuff sticks like **** to a blanket !

Today washed clayed and waxed her :)

The golfs grip was amazing, cornering speed and grip was like nothing I have ever driven. Launching it without any wheel spin or drama, no traction lights flickering. Would need stage 1 to compete on the straights tho :)

Car feels a lot more solid than the Leon and Ibiza we have :)

The FRS was the one the wife wanted, but seat position isn't nice. Drive is great in third gear but the 1st and second felt slow (they are torque restricted or something). Interior was crap, torque steer was crap - it was standard 300bhp. Steering didn't feel too positive. Makes some nice noises whilst going which is nice but overall not the car we wanted it to be.

For the record the Leon is staying put as my car, the mk5 Ibiza cupra is going :)

These are my opinions, so don't take them as gospel. Go Mae your own decisions.

Me and the car (or rather just me) have been out hiking and now the car is really in need of a clean!
Some absolute c:censored: thought it would be a good idea to push the rear wiper blanking plate in at some point, so there was a lovely hole in the window when I came back down to the car. I was, needless to say, ripping![:@]

I've put the wiper back in for the time being, but switched it off in VCDS.

Spiteful :censored:s! It's a good job it didn't rain!
