On a similar note, while reversing along a drive yesterday evening i thought that my reversing lights bulb had blown. Got out to check, it was still working but was surprised how weedy it was. Can the bulb in the reversing light be changed for an LED?

Not good with electrics so any help would be appreciated!

I have the one in the link below, its better than the standard bulb.

That seems like a very nice replacement. On one hand almost EVERYONE will see you reversing no matter how dark or light it is; on the other hand, however, it might be too much at night and may actually irritate people.

I can see why it could irritate people but they may be slightly more annoyed if I reverse into their car in the dark

I personally can't think of a time where I've reversed directly at someone, from the side it shouldn't be too bright! I'll try and get a few pictures up later.

The LEDs arrived in the mail yesterday! I was so excited I installed them right after I came back from university.

Here's the result:

I'm definitely very, very happy with the outcome. The bulbs are well worth the wait, in my opinion. They worked as soon as I plugged them in, although I had to change how I plugged the left one in because it didn't work at first, perhaps they need a very certain way to be plugged in order to work, but they're great! I sure hope they last long, although from other people's experiences LEDs are short-lived. Ah well, I might be removing the HIDs soon anyway so I won't be needing them for long, it's just nice to have those bright white sidelights for a change.

What do you guys think?

Thank you, mate, I think so too!

I think I changed my mind about retrofitting projector lenses into my OEM head light units, simply because I don't want to dismantle them and I'd like to sell the car with them intact.

I might just save up and get either aftermarket head light units with lenses and rings or go the used OEM ones. Although they're not available here, I might get lucky and find them used on eBay, Amazon, or perhaps a member here selling them or something.

Put some led reg lights and some sidelights in.

Now..

I've not had any faults come up and they are working fine but I run a vagcom scan today and showed up faults on my sidelights...is this the norm??
