I decided it was time to do something with the interior on the car.

There always one that has to spoil everyone elses fun :D

They are mate. I've been after some LCR recaros for ages but never managed to catch any in time before they sold. There was a set on ebay recently and the sarting bid was £495. So after someone pointed it out the mk4 recaros were identical and then ridiculed me for having poverty spec seats in my car I decided to have a look. These came up locally for £50, so it would have been rude not to. Had a word with my mother (she's pretty handy with a needle and thread, she used to be a seamstress), so she's going to trim them for me :D happy days

Sorry mate. I recognise the fabric! How sad is that! :)

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Buy the mk4 recaro seats and have them refurbed. Look forward to seeing how you get on mate

Interesting. I didn't realise that some LCRs didn't come with a Recaro interior. I know that my rears buckets were an optional extra... So what do your present seats look like then?

The price difference between Mk4 Recaros and LCR Recaros is miles apart. Great idea on the retrim. Would it be giving too much away if you were to tell us whether you will be going fabric or not?

Look forward to future updates :)

I want the recaros for the extra support during cornering ;)

More likely fabric then leather. They won't get started before October so plenty of time to consider more options for them.

I was thinking about doing the same, You can buy the replacement LCR Recaro seat cover's but I've been told they are a pig to fit.
What your doing is a good idea though as most LCR Recaro's will be at least 6-7 years old now and probably do with retriming.

IIRC covers are bloody expensive. Am sure I posted on here when I got my car as my driver's seat has a fag burn from some previous owner and just the cover for the base section of one seat is around £130. Probably looking at the better part of £600 for the whole lot for Recaros.

EDIT - nice one Richard, looking forward to seeing the finished result. Seen a few sets of mk4 Golf Recaros come up on a local VW forum I read occasionally and thought about doing the same thing myself :)

You're right mate, asked Dave at Sere for a quote, its £130 for each base cover and the same again for each back cover, thats £520, so I'm not bothering with the OEM ones.
