ashfr, this might be a bit too obvious, but all the screenshots show com1? Are you sure it's on com2?

I 'think' the messages are basically saying 'wrong ECU', IE you can't do it on your particular car.


W11TTX, are you using VDS Pro? What values did read eeprom come back with? And did you login to the ECU before you tried to write the eeprom?

Nup, VAGCOM cannot do it. It's either the Czech stuff or VDS Pro.

Its the convenience module, the pre face lift it wont work the face lift ones it will, there is supposed to be a version coming out that will work on the earlier cars, but thats been the case for at least 2 years.

i've literally just done this on my 2001 leon using the czech software linked from a few pages ago.
worked a treat. i'm well chuffed

I am surprised that so many people like this feature. I know most cars do it these days (including my mk5 ibiza) but I'm not so sure about it ever since I woke up and my windows were wide open Turns out I lent on the keyfob in my pocket when I got in lol

Luckily the car locks itself after x amount of seconds if no door is opened lol, although not sure that matters when the windows are wide open lmao. I am a bit more careful now..

I remember reading ages ago about needing a laptop that boots in MS-Dos or something - this still needed.

To use vds pro and do it as per the link I posted then yeh, you need to boot into dos and a serial vagcom cable. vds pro is all over the place for free
