you need to do a video of the exhaust sound now and then after you've fitted the downpipe :)

Hahaa im excited too! It's going to sound ridiculous with the decat because its very loud as it is. I have a feeling I may need ear plugs while driving

Such a good ride Benji! This makes me want to trade in my 07 FR for a 12 LCR! Although will wait for the 2014 LCR...

I've booked a wheel refurb & paint for next week on my 17s, but looking at this I really want to up to 18/19". Next stage for me is Remap, Twintake, Coilovers & wheels.

Oh yes it makes it sound different... you need ear plugs
Performance will be improved by a downpipe as they are less restrictive and help the turbo spool quicker! Cat-back is noise only.

Update: Full review of stage 2 to follow.

Managed to get a video of the sound now I had the decat fitted.
Damn it is loud, too loud for my liking really but my god it sounds mean. The DSG pops and bangs are unreal, its like a gun shot on gear changes.

You can hear it on the vid a little but it sounds much better in real life. I was also changing quite early at 5k, at higher revs the dsg pops even louder. I could'nt stretch the legs as there were speed humps every 50m so I could only get it up to second gear :p

You can also see the 6000k HIDs too, they are superb.

That is one sweet ride!

Cheers :)

I haven't updated in a while, there hasn't been much done to it that you can see with your eyes. If you didn't catch my APR stage 2 thread, then I can confirm that the car is now ballistic in every gear. It shoves you in the seat on acceleration! 3rd gear is just unreal.
The map has now highlighted issues in the handling department so I am looking for ways to tighten everything up to handle the extra power. :)

Here are a few pics of the HIDS

Anyway I was off work today so I decided to whip the wheels off to give them a good going over ahead of my big detail at the weekend.

The car has been crying out for it ever since Silverstone F1 where I was parked in a mud bath!

SAM_1011.jpg

It doesn't look too bad there but once I had got off after being towed out, it was 10 times worse!

While I was there I cleaned the arches and gave the brakes a freshen up too.

Dirty wheel

Painted disks and hub

Fresh calipers

Finished.
Tip: When you paint the disks make sure you go onto the disk ( like I have) , it might look bad now but once the brakes are pressed it removes the excess paint straight away, leading to a perfect edge all round ;)

Oh and added a cheeky sticker

I won't keep it on long because I don't like stickered up cars, but it's just a bit of a laugh for the time being :)

Just need to do the bodywork now at the weekend :)

It's a shame the wheels got dusty on the way there but remember the roughly painted disks... Well.....

I've just done the hubs on the back of mine to get rid of the surface rust..I was being extra careful as I didn't know it would come off so easy! I take it you used hammerite??

Looking very tidy Ben. So was it the flat silver hammerite you used - thinking of doing mine this afternoon because it really cleans up the look behind the wheels. Did you also paint the crap guard?

Yeah it comes off easy, make sure its dry though haha! Hammerite is fine on calipers but it can't stand the heat on brake disks. I used some high temperature paint from eBay , it seems very good so far and I have give them a lot of abuse !

High temp paint from eBay mate , Hammerstein can't stand up to high heat. Yeah painted the guards too gloss black, it makes a world of difference with rust free brakes ! :)
