The pics show for me ok! Strange.
Yeah I had my Milltek 3 months and had the rear section replaced under warranty in that time and when I removed it to sell it looked as though it was a few years old.
Sounds excellent when giving it some and quiet on the motorway the perfect combination.

Well today I travelled to ST Helens to go to B.C.S Automotive to get my new exhaust fitted by Nige and Dave.
What can I say top blocks and top quality exhausts:D
I got the prestige system with extra silencer as I didn't want it booming away when driving on the motorway at 80mph.
Well the verdict is that was totally achieved I travelled back on cruise at 80mph and I could hardly notice its there.
My car had a Pipewerx downpipe with 100 cell sportcat fitted but they adapted that so I have a full 3" system and what a great job they have done.
Anyone looking for a excellent quality exhaust which sounds amasing and doesn't want to pay Milltek prices this could be for you.
I've already had a Miltek system on this car and removed it as it was too noisy on the motorway and I got sick of needing to polish the rusty marks off the tailpipes every week even at 1 month old.
Anyway heres some pics I'll have more to follow.

Andrew, depends when you bought your Milltek.
Milltek once had a quite costly exercise over a year ago due to one of their suppliers, supplying lower grade steel unknown to Milltek.

Milltek now have an analyzer, to check their metals to ensure they are getting what they are paying for.

My last milltek was October last year and the amount of corrosion on that for 3 months was terrible.
I also had a full milltek on my fr bought about 3 years ago.
The system weathered better although I needed the rear silencer replaced under warranty for the welds breaking and a tailpipe corroded and fell off on the motorway.
That's why there prices are so high to cover all the warranty replacements.

When they were looking to replace it, did you get asked for numbers off the manufactures plate?

They usually asked for that to check if the batch number matched the batch with the lower quality steel and would replace without question.

Both times I needed photos and the numbers from the id tags.
Don't get me wrong their warranty is pretty much no quibble it's just the hassle and disappointment of how the system deteriorates.

In my opinion the prices are not high because of warranty.

The prices are higher due to talk the testing, they are good at keeping the noise on the outside of the car but plenty outside.
There ain't many non res systems on a petrol that you could put up with on motorway.
Same for my .FR diesel, although I did have two down pipes crack on the flex which was a different issue. But replaced without problems.

Your system has the exact symptoms of the bad batch exhausts.

Talk metals weather, but if it won't cone off with a slight rub of metal polish then you know there is something wrong.

how much you pay?

Paid £455 for the exhaust which included the forum discount they do which also included a larger front silencer so no cabin boom.
They charged me £30 to fit it and that included adapting my Pipewerx downpipe so I have a full 3" system.
Oh and it's sounds and looks awesome.

Yeah my Pipewerx downpipe is a 3" but it reduced to fit the standard catback.
The bcs system runs down the centre of the tunnel this allowing the additional silencer to be fitted.
Since I wanted to use my original Pipewerx they adapted it to run straight down the middle instead of the oem system that runs down one side of the tunnel.
Outcome?
Perfection!

Mate, i think that maybe the oil. I got rid of everything off it. I turps it all and left it to dry out then sprayed a few light coats then smashed loads of in the end so it hasn't got any cracks. So far so good. I also used heat resistant paint. :)

Primer would be my next step but I've used heat resistant and plastic spray paint, all halfrauds admittedly but all have cracked well filling it up. You could spray other things ok, its just the constant movement and bending that messes it up for me

Just a run to Bridlington and back, about half way on A1/M62 and the other half on A roads (A614).

Now the bit that's got me, it was worse on fuel on the motorways with the cruise set to 75 than on the A road... I did have my parents in the car so was driving smoothly but still 'making progress'

Filled the tank with V Power, yet again!:D

I pulled into a Shell garage the other day as I had about -10 miles left in my tank... I got the wrong pump to start with, saw that their V-Power diesel was 8p/l dearer than their fuelsave, and shifted pumps! I stuck some Millers in instead.

Is it reaaaaaaally worth that extra cost?
