hey dude know your a busy man especially with the baby but got any more reviews can give us on the coilovers, its next on my list so trying to sources some asap once i know what you think of them now had them a few weeks, :) thankyou :)

Hey Paul, sorry i got shipped out to chicago the morning after i posted that message and i'm still here,(wife is thoroughly not impressed)


As you now i have been running these coilovers for a good few hundred miles now on mixed roads, overall i am very happy with them, the ride quality is nice, not to harsh and i only have them set on 22 all round, so i still have another 14 harder settings to go for track days etc...


The only issue i have found thus far is the rear springs are shorter than my previous springs so they rub on the Blueflame backbox, it will need adjustment, i may have to move the backbox over abit but at the same time keep it inline with the cutout of the rear diffuser.

Here are some pics from my install, ( please note, DO NOT use my DIY approach to spring compression, you will probably take your eye out.)


These are the brackets i mentioned for the front brake lines, you kinda of bend them to suit you needs, functionally it works fine, but would be nicer to have proper brackets.

There a pretty wide strut, i have 10mm spacers on the front, i reckon 10mm is at least the minimum to stop the wheel from fooling.

The rear is sligthly more complex as you need to measure and adjust not only the spring perch but the strut is also adjustable, so preload and strut lenght need to be attended to.

Good job on changes over to these. Bet your going to see a real difference with these on

I know, I know, it's typical I couldn't find my spring compressor when I need it most, it amazing how much energy those springs can store when compressed.

Just got back home today only to find out my MAF is dead, seriously I go through 2 of these a year now, like WTF.

Why did you bother with the zipties for the rear springs??

Surely its just a case of jacking the car up, stick it on axle stands and with a trolley jack under one of the spring cups, undo the lower damper bolts, then lower the trolley jack slowly? Spring extends until fully out where it just falls out - no need for compressors or zipties.

10/10 for effort though! :D

Normally this is the way I have done it in the past but for some reason this time round there was no clearance once the rear axle was dropped, not sure of the springs were longer, I must compare them to my other collection of springs I have at this stage.

that will be all the extra airflow :yes:

hybrid IC in the maf is working overtime to keep the temp Delta..
maybe time for an S4 maf tube and scaling

Clutch issues sorted(i hope)

Very interesting hmmm and maybe one of your velocity stacks too;)

Hmmm, the Jury is still out for me on the Velocity stack, i have one, while airflows are good, top end i feel like it struggles a tad, mine read 10g/s lower today Vs the Jetex and this was with a brand new MAF so i'm not so sure about them now, there is a doubt in my mind.


Some good news, but I’m half afraid to say it in case i jinx it,.................. but....................i think i may have resolved my clutch issues. While i was in US i bought some parts from ESC tuning.

Among other stuff were these, i think you know where i going with this!

O-Ring installed, i used a straightened out paper clip to guide the O-ring down there, boy its tight!

New Bleeder installed.(spy my SouthBend clutch line, looks good, LOL, utter waste of money i fear, who knows!)

I left the bleeder screw out of the assembly while i filled the brake fluid back up and literally left the fluid run straight out until as much air as possible was purged.

Time to setup up my bleeder, this is a simple one with a non-return valve, i have a pressure bleeder but i was to lazy to dig it out.

I bleed in 15 cycles, 20 pedal pumps followed by quickly opening and closing the bleed nipple, its very tedious but I really wanted to be sure all the air was out of the system.
While i was down there i noticed one of the cable shifter ends was cracked no doubt from all the times i needed to "persuade" the car out of gear or face rear ending someone.

I brought the car out for a spin and got stuff hot, the clutch bite point has not changed once and also while the pedal is depressed in traffic the car does not lurch forward, i did a 45minute drive, open road and town driving and all seems good, i really hope its fixed, it actually fells normal, no more dis-engagement issues, the clutch seems spot on, fingers crossed aye.!

You decided on what wheels your getting next or you going to stick with the OEM ones?

Not sure, all i know is that they will be 18" and a dark color.

Oh my god I want your wheels so bad :(

Buy them, great exchange rate at the moment considering the Euro is borderline monopoly money, coverts to £770, not bad for genuine BBS that are around £1400 new and in standard form.:D
