This is a crap situation, mine uses loads of oil but i cant be bothered checking the mileage cos i always forget. However i have been told on startup a few times ive had blue smoke, need sort it out i think.

Suppose if you really want ti know get it booked into the dealers and get them to do the weighing process..
Mines used 78gms of oil in 100kms on my test and thats excessive.
No paperwork. They are putting in a report to SEAT detailing usage etc. then it's up to them as to next step. I guess am waiting on them getting back to me with next step.
My 2010 cupra drank a lot of oil, and it lost power after a while. I couldnt get it up to the same top speed after a year as i could when it was new. When new, the car reached 220 km/h with 2 persons in it, after a year "only" 190km/h with only me in..
I was really eager to order the new Ibiza cupra as soon they are available, but due to my own experience and after having read about all the problems people are having, i'm not really sure i want the car anymore..
I sure hope VAG have sorted all the issues with the motor because i love the car, but hate the motor and gearbox.. At least i did. Also, the dealers i were in contact with about my last cupra refused to admit any known problems at all with the 1,4 TSI unit. In plane english, they couldnt care less about My complaints about the oil consumption or the rattle and bangs from the gearbox.. Seems like Seat offers much better service in the UK then in Sweden..

They claim a flat 225km/h with stock map. If your car can't reach that kind of speed they have to sort the problem no questions asked.
Anyone got any ideas to why he can't reach top speeds anymore? Could it be loss of compression in the pistons?
I have the feeling that the seat updates limit power in certain rpms to solve misfiring whilst keeping the same peak bhp and torque. Would like to see back to back dynos with all the ecu updates
Well now i have sold my car.. But i'm thinking of ordering the new one, but i dont want to have this issues with the new one. If its been sorted on the newer models it will be a new one, otherwise it will be a Leon Cupra R instead or a whole other brand..
I dont know if my car was ever updated, all i know is they put Mazdas Dexelia 5w-40 in it on the service. Shouldnt it have been 5-30 instead? Especially having our cold winters in mind.

5w40 is better. I use that. If i were u id get an audi a1. Same engine but different engine code. Confirmed by an email to audi they are different in some ways. Theres speculation about uprated pistons but there are 100% new rings available

FIFESEAT did my rebuild for me. No complaints about their service, helpful dealership. First 1000 miles after rebuild everything looked ok - used some oil but nothing like before it's rebuild. Car was then serviced and over the next 1000 miles it's back drinking oil again. Keep posting with how you get on with yours.
Yes ive seen the thread about the rings.. IMO the A1 is a lot more money for virtually the same car with less appealing looks so in that case id rather go for the Leon instead.. Just cant belive how they (VAG) could make such a "crappy" engine..
Changed the oil 1,400 miles ago, no top up needed yet; guess the Wossner forged pistons are working. Really wanted to go drag racing today but just got a big electric bill 
Currently running 'safe' Revo stage 1 as insurance though it would take a more agressive map now in theory.

One of my old factory pistons fractured so the problem is the strength of the metal, maybe not the rings.
