Today i have been

On a weighbridge haha.

Had a fair bit of scrap to get rid of so had to get the car weighed before and after.
After all metal was out the car the car weighed in at 1300kg with a full tank of fuel and a passanger.

Never been on a weigh bridge before but always wanted to. Wonder what my fully stripped and caged pug 106 xsi 16v weighs in at.

Nothing much has been happening recently. I have just been enjoying driving the car after 3 months off the road. Everything is going good - would like more power but its deciding in which direction to go with the tdi as i do 60miles a day so need the car to still be reliable as it is now *touch wood*.

Firstly a few jokers at work decided it was a good idea to put this sticker on my car without me knowing !! I have now removed it as it does look a tad girly ! And with the amount of smoke my car chucks out it certainly isn't powered by fairydust !

And an issue that has been bugging me for around a year now. My air con didn't work even though I gassed her up myself. I was getting power and a good earth at the compressor. I decided to have another look at the air con last night and after reading a few threads i came to the conclusion the clutch in the compressor had had it. So i trawled ebay and found a chap with a compressor less than a mile from my house for £40 so i have collected and fitted it this morning.

I have stripped the old compressor done as im curious to see whats happened to it and yes the clutch has chunks missing from it meaning the centre just spins whereas it should spin with the pulley. I will gas my system tomorrow and fingers crossed i will have air con for the great british summers !!

Nice work on the mods, Id love to go hybrid.

Cheers Hevs. Should get it done, you won't regret it

This could well be the 1st interior mod i have carried out. I have been planning this for a while now. The original pedals are dull so decided on some Audi TT pedals

Poor pic from ebay advert

I will get a pic once fitted

Hmm oh dear what am i doing !

I have just purchased myself a GTB2260VK from an Audi Q7 3.0 TDI

I have decided to go hunting for more power. This will be a bit of a longer process with sourcing all the parts required to get me a good reliable setup. Im sure i will be in contact with Ryan at Darksidedevelopments shortly.

My plan is to get the turbo and also some Firad 80% injectors fitted at the same time.

Will get some pics up once the turbo arrives

Cheers Ste

Are you converting the turbo yourself? And what you going to do manifold wise?

I will wait and see what the turbo looks like to convert as a have a few spare actuators. But i know darkside offer this service. Manifold i will be looking at tubular manifold datkside offer - i have seen other standard manifolds hacked up but they look restrictive

You will have great fun with that setup :)

Cheers Alex. Should hopefully keep me happy for a little while. How you doing anyway?

I am fine, thank you.
Last 6 or 7 month have been very busy, raising my own company besides my work as a employee.

But today is my last day as employee and in future I can fully focus my time for my company :)

All the best,

Alex

I remember you saying you were very busy a couple of months back !

Good luck with your new company !

So the new turbo gets your approval ? Are you running 2260?

On my previous Ibiza I had a 2260 setup. I sold the car almost 2 years ago, but it is still running strong. I meet up with the new owner frequently, he is a good friend of mine.
Car has now 220.000km on it :)

But manifold from Ryan will be even better, anything you purchase from Darkside is top of the notch :)

Don't forget to modify actuator lever on turbo to make it work with vacuum type actuator, and inserting a stop screw for min. vane gap setting ;-)

Cheers for that Alex.

It may end up heading off to darkside for the actuator conversion

I need to contact ryan at some point.
