Winter tyres

I'm running same pressures as summers.

I think there is a belief that you should run a few psi lower however (iirc) I think it was Lee who got in touch with a major tyre manufacturer or pulled it off their website advising to leave pressures as per normal (may be even Camskill).

Confirm either way please Lee

My manual says run them 0.2 Bar higher.

I think higher pressures are better, my fronts looks half flat with 34psi in them! Need more like 36psi or more.

Pretty disappointed with the winters generally too, currently wish I hadn't bothered. They are a bit more wallowy, much less grippy than summers above 0 degrees and weren't much better than summers in the snow.

Maybe I expected too much from them... I could also be proved wrong if the winter gets a bit sharper!

Still hovering between 3-8 degrees around here so mine will stay on until spring, plus we usually have our snow in january sometime anyway

have cosidered taking them off but as the temps are between 0 & 5 most mornings , and as you say we usually have a spell of cold weather late jan / early feb.....i'm thinking the same TBH !

I only got to test them out because I went in search of snow in the lake district! Barely seen below 0 all winter!

It's snowing in Holland. And my front tyres are almost worn down... Will be driving carefully until new wheels are delivered :-(

We've had a good 3" thick blanket settle since 1pm!!!

Certainly glad I left them on now as I'd considered putting the summer wheels back on 3 weeks ago!

I'm off out to test the winters for snow grip soon ...

Just done the same - went actively looking for hills and to see what (sensible) speed could be maintained before the grip went off.

Quite impressive really - not sure i'd have made it up one of the hills I climbed without winters... On a simple note, ost impressive was how the car stopped and pulled away from the traffic lights in the slush; basically no wheel spin. I might just be a convert to winters forever
