The wiper mechanism arrived today, getting it done tomorrow. Also opened the package with the bulbs last night. Out of three sets, two were broken! Pfff.

Had some rough handling I guess.. :/

Do anyone know if theres a way to edit earlier (first) post(s) again? Or have it been too long? :(

Allright, so I had the wiper mechanism done today. Im happy that the wipers now are fully functional - and quicker than ever! ;) cheap as well!
I did all the new bulbs, after agreeing with the seller. Im sorry for the bad quality phone pictures, also aint used to it yet. (sgs2)

But here are some:

IC pipe; the reason for the limp mode?
(Explained in other thread here: Help needed with 17964 Charge Pressure Contr. Negative Deviation)

Cupra R lip obviously took a beating - still needs to be done:

All bulbs are "100w" diamond white 5000k.
Fogs looks a fair bit more yellow, Im guessing its caused by the fly eyes film thats on them. Getting rid of it.
Does anyone know if the fogs are adjustable? Mine seem to be very low/short.

The weeping IC pipe could cause limp mode. Its weeping quite bad so best get a replacement.
We
it should be said that it hasn't been cleaned in ages. But that ain't no excuse.. Should ofc been replaced a while ago. Maybe I could Fix it without buying a new one?

As there are no SEAT dealers in Norway, getting parts sometimes can be a struggle. The wiper mechanism for instance, I bought for a golf, just had to compare the picture to my broken one... :-(

So I've been looking at the Allard aluminium intercooler pipe kit. They're asking £312.. should that be about £260 without vat? I don't think I have to pay vat as I live in Norway? Plus shipping ofc.. :-\

Suprised I haven't seen this on the site before. Very nice Leon indeed, well looked after too by the looks of it! Love everything you've done so far.

Thanks! :D
Though I have to admit that the looks are deceiving. It ain't as good and clean as it I want it to be. The car deserves better! ;)

Maybe that will be sorted when I build/buy a house with a huge garage! ;)
Cosidering the fact that 2 are becoming 3 this summer, we decided to add some more 4x4 power to the fleet (Other car in signature!) :)

Been looking all over, is there really noone that makes/sells a decent debadged honeycomb upper centre grille?

Yeah I found this thread by looking at your new car first.
But I think you're doing a great job provided that it must get dirty all the time due to your weather, so respect!

This week the temperatures have been between -20C and -30C.. In these cold and dry conditions theres not a big problem with the car getting too dirty.. cleaning it however...! ;)

Soon there will be no more cold car! :D
Electrical engine heater is ordered, along with a interior heater. Getting both installed for some £350+.
Also I'll have to get the car through "MOT" within april. Heres what I know of that needs to be done:

  • Front
    • 312mm brake discs
    • brake pads
    • ARB bushings <-- Unsure of wich/sizes. 19/21[mm]?
  • Rear
    • 256mm brake discs
    • brake pads
    • High level brake light
Doesn't need to be done, but still getting sorted.

I'm going to go with standard brakes, or a notch better with same size brembos. The wallet won't allow anything else I'm afraid. I'm only hoping there will be no hidden expenses that I'm not aware of!

Engine and interior heater, quad rear lights

Had quite a few hours on the car last night. Goal was to install a electrical engine heater along with an interior heater. Got to a few other things as well!

Before we started:
20120210202533.jpg

Engine heater parts. Wasn't the easiest one to do, with quite a few extra hoses.
20120210171619.jpg

Placement of AC socket. Quite satisfied, no obvious place to put it really.
20120210231934.jpg

Interior heater puts out 1850W(!)
Was a struggle to do the wiring for this.

While the proper mechanic did the engine heater, I decided to have a go at doing quadruple rear driving lights.
I think it turned out really good, Looks alot better in real life, especially at night! ;)

Done!
Reattached the cupra r lip, removed fly eyes kit from the fog lamps, oh and accidentally debadged front! Errrm. Not the way it should look imo, but will have to do for now.

Love what you've done with the rear lights, that's awesome!

Me too, is it the fog lights that you have bridged into the normal rear lights?

looks awesome!

Thanks guys!
Glad you like it! I've never seen anyone do it before, but allways had a feeling it would look cool.[B)]
There used to sit a 21W fog light in each of the lower lights on the hatch, yes. But no, they're not bridged. Yet. This is just a quick test setup. Not exactly what I want, but will do for now. My guess would be that the wires and the fuses would be ok with an added 10W, but havent really done the math on it :p

As per now I haven't got any functional rear fog lights. My plan is to have the four driving lights lit, while keeping all the secondary functions;

Mad MSPaint skills, yeah I know!

After a quick glance at the lamp holders I realized that this will require some work. Soldering, plastic welding and glueing would be keywords here I guess. Oh, and there would be some wiring to be done.
Im guessing you know how I did it by now! ;)
