Guys apart from the fact i can always smell rubber when i have a long motorway blast lol.....

Oh James, im considering either doing my wheels the same colour again, with the brembos painted bright red........or going gloss black wheels( zzzzzzz boring) or some cheap BBS reps off ebay.

why?

well corrosion and dirt on these wheels especially if they are as shiny as mine is a pain in the ass!!!!

James also the car goes in Thurs for the 2 new doors to be repainted as the paint is reacting to the metal or something. Have had a quote for the front bumper as someone decided to hit me again. If i ever found these scumbags, god knows what i may do.....as i said before, im really falling out with this car now. If someone isnt out to smash it up, its killing me financially lool.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck Bret, i hope the repainting goes well next week. I know you're on a downer about your car at the moment, but your car really is a credit to you!

It's easy to get used to a car and under appreciate how good it actually is, driving other supposedly "fast" cars is a good way to give you some prospective on the attributes of your car.

I'm sure once you get it back from the painters you'll fall in love with it once again. I look forward to seeing some more pictures. :)

Cheers James nothing but positive comments from you. Always appreciate it mate

Hmmm yeh i love bright silver, as i love the standard wheels........but i need 2 front tyres which will be circa £280 for contis + a full refurb is £250.....will be cheaper to get some cheapo BBS reps in black (better for cleaning/lack of cleaning) off ebay for cheaper....

The fronts are still on 2mm tread so still legal, but its a no brainer really....maybe BBS reps are the way forward??

Don't go reps! Reps are just that... Though the real deal isn't cheap I'm eyeing up some genuine BBS rims for mine next year as she'll be staying..

Brett how do you rate the conti's? I know their pricey but they must be the dogs B's? Unsure what to get next, but plenty left on my potenza's for a good while yet.

Lol tom i cant buy genuine BBS rims firstly cos a) too pricy and b) they would get nicked in the area i live!!!

Just regarding finances, its cheaper to have reps and crappy tyres instead of beautiful shiny wheels and top of the range tyres.

Tom on that bombshell just mentioning the continental sportcontact 3s.... Utterly awesome, the cheapest i can get them balanced and fitted is £145 each, but soooo worth it

Ok, so i smacked up someones chuff the other day!! Was angry with myself as my reflexes are normally spot on....i put it down to a) tyres were very very bald
b) My brakes are getting so spongy,
and c) Lack of awareness.

After pulling to the side of the road blah blah blah, the driver in the Corsa started pointing out scratches that i never could of possibly done! My car is a bit scuffed but i made it out to be worse.....asked for his details and he said "forget it". Hmm i think someone never had any insurance???

Ok on a positive note, the car has been fairly neglected as of late, and after getting the tax reminder on the doorstep decided to check when my MOT was due....yep sods law 2nd of February!!

Been trying to do bits and pieces to her slowly but surely due to money etc.

- Needed 2 new tyres, when they came off the tread was SHOCKING to say the least!!
-Just had a service today, engine flush
-New brakes EBC ultimax with ferodo DS2500 and braided lines, brake fluid.
-MOT

While it was in there had the jacking point cover 'professionally' put back on as i, and the tyre fitting guy, and various friends couldnt get the thing on for ****!!! Was advised to NEVER take it off again loool.

Thats it, just needs a nice wheel and Brembo refurb and i will be very happy. Oh and more comments on how well looked after and nice and clean it is inside and out...again. Never get tired of it.

HANDLING...CONTINUED.

061.jpg

And SuperPro steering rack mount bush.

SuperProStrRack.jpg

Ok so as the car is getting close to 50, well ok 47 (thousand miles) i thought it was time to splash a bit of cash on her. Above i recently had SuperPro polybushes, but while they were fitting wishbone bushes etc etc they noticed that my original anti roll bar was slightly worse for wear, so i could either replace or upgrade and because the R32 bar is competitively priced i thought why not.

So a new R32 bar and SuperPro bushes to complete the handling mods.

Picture stolen sorry

BRAKES.

Ok, so had the original discs on from standard so they were well overdue a change. An MOT approaching gave me a kickstart in the gonads to do it. Originally wanted Badger5 lightweight ones but i knew this bill was gonna be expensive anyway so just did the tried and tested option.

I wanted the EBC Ultimax but was told there is a 4-6 week waiting turnaround for these so i needed the next best option. EBC Dimpled & Grooved Discs. Im sure they are called Turbo grooved??? Anyways these were completed with some HEL braided lines all round, RBF600 brake fluid and Ferodo DS2500 Pads all round. Appologies first 2 pics arent mine, but the rest is mine
