That stereo works with the steering wheel controls via an additional cable.

You'll also need an amplified aerial adapter. And if you think your radio is bad now, wait til you fit an aftermarket one.

I have the predecessor to that stereo if you fancy trying it in the car. I don't have the steering wheel adapter though

Edit : that has front USB/aux input as does mine and it's a complete pain in the ass. If I was buying now, I'd be looking for a rear USB and have the cable coming out behind the ashtray

That would be good if thats ok gary. There must be a way round the poor signal, think i'll phone somebody who specializes in this area and ask a few questions. Should the adaptor not already be in my car since the standard one has s/w controls?

I might buy a new adapter and hard wire it to something in the car, rather than the stereo, see if that helps.

Your welcome to try it though. The adapter is so the original sw controls the new stereo. It won't work without it

Cool, i'll pop by sometime soon and pick it up. What are your thoughts on the Pioneers headunits? I'm looking at this one now as that one does'nt have bluetooth

I've had pioneer units in every car since I passed my test. According to serious audiophiles, there are better quality, but I like the user interface and they look excellent.

Definitely get the Bluetooth one with the hidden DVD slot. I paid £100 for the add on Bluetooth and the front slot is another pain.

Does that one work with ur phone though? It seems very iPhone orientated

Want double DIN tbh. Think the ibiza centre console looks so 80s with all the cheap looking plastic and single slot headunit. Hopefully modernise it a bit.

Ok, the cause of the water leak(s!) is because the windscreen seal is buggered and the inner door skin is not sealed properly. Because the water has been leaking in so long the airbag ecu needs replaced. Still to here back about the gearbox/clutch noise. I swear I think somebody puts a curse on my cars!!
