Not much round the basics really, his had the hybrid turbo over mine at the time, was about to send mine off the same week but changed my mind haha You got a bargain with his car, was wounding seeing it go so cheap!

You had it mapped yet with the s3 injectors and maf etc? If not get in touch with John at bigfishtuning, i know he was getting a map ready for it back then

Yeah its a great car it really is, unfortunately i haven't had anytime to do it, been meaning to do it but i always find something else to spend my money on. It's needing a new actuator before mapping too. The turbo thats in it, is it a ko3s with ko4 internals? or just a ko3s hybrid? was just looking over his build thread, and got all confused :(

What size of turbo is it that your moving to now?

Aw okay that's cleared that a bit up haha, will you not have to watch your torque figures? I wouldn't need much to add a ko4, manifold, new downpipe and map?

Yeh i will, especially running that forge actuator and yellow spring, gonna try get the initial torque capped at about 300ftlbs to be safe.

Theres quite abit needed to swap to ko4, your basically running a ko4 but with ko3 fitment. Reason i wanted to do ko4 was to just keep it all oem parts for oem reliability. Saw there was some issues with some hybrids so decided against it, though some seem to be reliable.

Dropped the turbo off at a turbo specialist earlier today and got a phonecall saying that it's in good condition and there's no reason for them to strip it/ replace any parts, so that's good news.

Just waiting to hear the lads final verdict on if he wants the car or if he's going to go for a corsa vxr, then I can either let it go, or get saving to have all this stuff fitted.

Dont particularly want to sell, although that's the sensible thing for me to do which is why it was up, rather than run two cars but will leave it up to fate, if it stays it's a good excuse to crack on :D

Came to work today and badger5 80mm tip had arrived. My turbo was in the mk3 still from when I collected it yesterday so thought I'd set about fitting the adapter quickly whilst I was having a coffee. Cleaned both surfaces with brake cleaner, rubbed sealant around the mating surface of the adapter, fitted it onto the turbo and wiped away excess sealant. I then lock tighted the two grub screws in place.

The tip:

That's everything except the spare 3inch maf housing, which should be here by now but no biggy! Might be selling the seat for now too as I want to get the vibratechnics engine mounts bought ( criminally expensive!) then save the rest up for fitting/mapping

Im glad its staying Scott. Think you have chose the best route to go down for this motor mate bt would be overkill in one of these i reckon, but with the k04 it will be a monster :D really want to come see this and get a blast in it when its done! Ive been out driving the mk2 a few times the noise is awesome but still got a few minor problems to sort out for the mot

We will have a meet-up some time when it's all done, I wanna experience your mk2, massive fan of it. The vr6 noise is incredible!

Yeh bt is abit much in a small car, few lads with big turbos have warned me they arnt the most drivable but massive fun! I wanna maybe do a trackday next year so want to keep it drivable.

Thanks matey, would be majorly appreciated! It's the only missing part bar the gaskets and bolts i have to order (putting order in today hopefully)

Still need to try sort the engine mounts out too, vibratechnics are so so expensive though :( emailed THS to see if they could supply them/ think about making some but no reply yet.
