Nice build mate, EBC bluestuffs are not road legal pads with regards to bed in process not being safe for road pads ;)

True they are not ECE R90 certified for the Cupra R but they are certificed for other cars, this confuses me as the bed in process is the same in addition why the hell are they marketing them as a fast street/track pad

I do agree the bed in process is far to dangerous for the open road, i better get access to the, "private track" again, hah hah ha!

i await your feedback on these ebc blue things

So far Bill as you have probably read the bed in process is stupid crazy compared to the likes of the DS2500's, i hear reports of bad fade on the Nissan GTR's but then again they weigh about 1800kg and have a higher top speed, Cupra R is about 1400-1500kg iirc.

We will see, i must say i am kinda nervous about them.

fingers crossed..
how much were they out of interest?

Here's one, just had a communication from EBC saying the pads should take about 1000miles to fully bed in, thats alot of laps on the track with scary moment for free, WTF, pre-bedded pads my hole.

They were £148 inc VAT for the fronts and i forget for the rears, around the same as the DS2500's

Make sure you're properly braced when bedding in (on the private land) as when they get really warm it becomes vicious

Blimey... Even a track car should be kept clean... Oh how times have changed...

The two-piece discs look really nice behind the rim. It's a minefield when it comes to choosing pads isn't it! I'd previously had the EBC Red Stuff pads on grooved discs, and they were a pig in normal driving conditions (noisey more than anything), but were so good when it mattered. The last couple of years I've settled with the DS2500s; they're great for the road, quiet against the grooves but they get chewed through.

Are these pads suitable for grooved discs? It's strange that judder is being caused.

1000 miles is a lot of track time, especially if you were to have a track dedicated car. What's the optimum temps for the pads? With the rears, I should imagine that it'll be extra tricky to get those up to those temps repeatedly.

Either way Robbie, It'll be worth it in the end! Don't warp those lovely discs...

Drive safely buddy :)

Hows the clutch doing mate? Felt my clutch slip today in 5th gear so guessing it's coming to that point where it's going to need changing. Wondering what you thought about your new set up?

Also where did you get the clutch from if you don't mind me asking? Cheers!!

Honesty mate the clutch is giving me a bit of bother at the moment, i am not sure if its Air in the system or the slave/master cyclinder at fault, failing that it the clutch.

i am going to bleed down the system tomorrow to rule out Air.I will keep you posted.

Hey Rob

the boss looks quite thick... does the nozzle spray clear the edges of the pipe ID when spraying?

On a side note, wellys dbw body expired, had witness of condensation inside it, but its seized solid.. not electrically failed, mechanically failed.

Hi Bill, I too had the same problem with my car last year, had to buy another TB and this time an adaptor plate for post TB WMI.

Robbie, looking forward to seeing your thoughts on the EBC's

I have run reds on mine
greens on my 16v and the westfield
the reason i eft them was the last set of reds i bought all 4 had the braking material part from the backing plates... NDX might be an option as I am looking at changing soon

How has the wmi been killing your tb mate ? I've just fitted wmi to mine I've used the hole where the charcoal canister used to go into the tb and drilled and taped it , what nozzle would you recommend I've got 3 nozzles to use 01,02,03

Back from the dead

Good evening all, yes i am still alive, LOL, sorry for not updating more regular, just been absolutely mental busy for the past few months, between work, home and family.
Work wise i have just had my head buried in leading projects, SAP CRM, E-Commerce etc....which are near climax, so a rest bite is welcomed, in addition to this
we were renovating/extending our house so we had to move out for 7weeks, back in now and all is mostly finished, just trying to get the never ending supply of dust out the door
and to top it all off we have a new addition to our family as of 2 weeks ago, another boy :D all are healty and well, i forgot how tough sleepless nights were, god bless caffeine.

Now back to the car stuff, between all the above i did manage to magic up some time for the car. Mostly all of the work i have been doing is software related, tweak refine, tweak again.
I am now running 10-15% methanol in the petrol tank and just using water injection to keep IAT's down, to be honest the car feels metal, timing across the range is super high and CF's are non-existent or low, 2's and 3'a, we limited timing advance at 23* as i maxed my 550cc injectors out, but the car has felt the most powerfull it every has, with airflows running in the 320-330bhp range, 20psi @ 7000rpm and 21/22* timing top end it must be near or over the 340bhp range easily, a dyno is needed.

The Clutch is still giving me a bit of grief, i have replaced the Master cylinder and uprated the clutch lines to braided lines from Southbend, today i actually flushed out the
slave cylinder using a syringe and long 2mm tube, it has made a huge difference but i am still suspicious of the master cylinder, moreover the person that installed it.

The brake upgrades i did are fully settled in, the NDX pads are pretty awesome when matched with the godspeed disks, braided lines and 5.1, they bite soooo well and really just stop the car dead, having said that i could not recommend the NDX pads because of the absolutely crazy mental bed in procedure, no wonder there not road legal, LOL

So here's my lastest bucket list.

* Refurb the Bremdo’s after the fool that installed the MS let the system run dry(not a problem) but then proceeded to bleed brake fluid all over my Brembo's and let them sit there, what a fcuking twat, paint has pealed. When i confronted him about this his response was to walk away and lock himself into his office, he'll get his.

Can't trust anyone these days.

* Bought as set of rear lights, i have plans to tint them.
* I need a inline fuel pump for extra fuelling, mine is struggling to deliver enough on peak rail pressures mixed with 550cc injectors.
* Selling my immaculate BBS CH, hopefully someday(soon) i will find a set of alloys that will live up to how much i liked the CH's.
* Spray a spare rocker cover i have, color to be decided, i just know it will be metallic paint.
* General service, its being 6k already :-(
* Still loving the Vredestein's :)

Last but not least these babies were ordered today, happy days.
I will get actual pictures up when they arrive this week.

D2s... Nice kit to be fair, I had them on the corolla. Adjustable in every way can be a harsh on the ride and I struggled to adjust them :S

These could be slightly different though, well the rears are!

Nice updates to buddy
