Small update time, nothing too exciting im afraid - i'm at the stage of the build now where it's gonna get a bit boring as i wait for parts / do bodywork etc... but hang in there.
So i've painted the Power steering / alternator bracket up in satin black and mounted the power steering pump onit -
Mounted on the car -
I had to remove the turbo to get the power steering pipe back on, mounted the pipe clamp back on. The power steering pipe looks crap as it's quite corroded... i may repaint it later but i just wanted to get it all back in.
So after that i decided to get on with the wiring loom and get it sorted.
The original loom was in quite bad condition, the wires had perished around the coils and there were several plugs knackered where i was a little rough in the strip down.
So i found a Golf AUM/AUQ wiring loom on ebay for £25, i wasn't sure if it was gonna be the same as the Leon AUQ loom but i thought if not i could always butcher it and use it to repair my original loom.
It came the other day and i checked it against the Leon one - exactly the same !! Score
So i fitted it the other day -
I know i was a bit silly to do so but i never labelled the plugs up when i removed the engine etc.... it seemed to be quite obvious (at the time) where all the plugs went, but 1 year later and it appeared to be a lot less obvious
So after plugging in all the sensors etc that looked right i slowly managed to work out the rest.
So i fitted the new guides for holding the back bumper on, the bumper fitted nicely after a bit of trimming of the guides -
So tomorrow i've got to drive down to bradford and pick up an LCR back bumper that i have bought off egay for £65. It's got a little bit of damage around the exhaust opening but nothing major.
I have also just sent Clay @ CTS turbo some money in exchange for some goodies
So i've got a Large Port SEM inlet Manifold coming with a 80mm opening, Eurodyne Meastro 7 Tuning software, Some Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors, and some Lumpy Integrated Engineering IECVA1's Street Strip camshafts
mmmm tasty gains...
