Nice news Daz she paased MOT. Hope you didn't catch your side skirts, that's really low lol

The entrance to the garage is on a very steep ramp, I just came off it at the wrong angle and caught the front end
Hopefully it'll be getting resprayed over the winter.

The car's recently developed a nasty creaky sort of noise from the front wheel's, it only does it when the car is cold and goes away after about 10 mins of driving, it's not engine related, at first I thought it was the brakes, the DS2500's have been in for well over a year and they've covered quite a few miles so I thought maybe it is them rattling against the disc's
My mate who MOT's it today had a look last night and we traced it to the front top mount's, these were changed when the coilovers were fitted so they should'nt be worn yet, there is no movement in them either, oh well at least I dont need new pads :D

The car flew through it's MOT but on the way out I forgot how low it sit's

Next up road tax :(
Ouch...Thats one thing I dont miss with my one.

It could be your top mounts Daz. Mine failed after 5 months when I had KWs fitted. Get 034 Motorsport top mounts. You dont get any vibration from them and they really do sharpen everything up.

Yeah I'm pretty certain it's the top mounts,
Unfortunatly the crap firm my mrs works for has decided to have a shake up so most of the mods I had planed for the winter are on hold till we know what's going on.

Over the last couple of weeks the car has developed a nasty creaking noise coming from the front end, It onlt did it for the first 10 minutes of so after the car had been sitting for a day.
We found nothing wrong during the MOT a couple of weeks ago but we suspected the front top mount's, these were changed around may when the coilovers went on.
After speaking to Jonjay I decided to import a set of 034 motorsport track density top mount's, unfortunalty I ordered the wrong one's

OEM one is on the left :(

After removing the top mounts we could see what the problem was, the bearing had broken up which was allowing the top of the shock to move.
As I'd ordered the wrong one's we had to replace the faulty top mounts with another set of OEM one's, at least I now know what to listen for if they go again :)

Big thanks to all the guys at AmD Essex for all their help

Glad to hear it is sorted mate. Was a very annoying noise so could feel the frustration. Keep a ear out for the noise although I doubt it will happen again unless your really that unlucky!

I think mines Artic grey,
What products do you use on it ?

An hour? That's ridiculous it is too shiney!!!!

Honestly Tom 1 hour top's, It's all the layers of sealent that give it the wet shine look, plus it get's a coat of megs last touch QD after every wash.

I have a couple of quick questions for you D.K, which sealents would you recommend and did you paint your splitter yourself? The reason I ask is mines the same colour and whatever you use brings out the silver really well.

Haven't seen a better silver LCR personally! The paint looks the dogs up close.

I can make it much better for sure. Probably see the car around Jan Feb time for some more intensive correction And refinement.

My favourite sealent at the moment is Werkstat Acrylic Jett :D
It goes on really easy and leaves a nice wet finish, it's also a good product to use during the winter as the cure time is fairly short unlike waxes, and it's not affected by cold temp's.

If you want to get a really good finish it's all in the prep work, If it's not already been done you'll need to have the car clayed and machine polished by someone who knows what they are doing, this will get ride of any imperfection's in the paint plus any swirls, Swirls are a lot harder to see on silver paint, they tend to make the surface look cloudy.

Weekly routein
Wash wheels with Megs Gold Class shampoo useing Large EZ detail wheel brush
Rince body work
Wash body work useing Auto Finesse Lather shampoo, Lambs wool wash mit, DoDo juice bucket with grit guards.
Rinse with an open ended hose.
Dry using Elite Ultra Plush Deep Pile Drying Towel and Megs last touch QD to disperce the water and to lube the towel.
Clean windows with Auto Glym Fast Glass
Dry wheels, door shuts and engine bay
Job done :D

When I'm getting mine ready for a show or if I've got a spare day I'll do the following.
Clean all rubber's and plastic trim with APC and detailing brush.
Jet wash wheel arch's
Clean tyres useing APC, Need to source a better cleaner.
Wash wheels with Megs Gold Class shampoo useing Large EZ detail wheel brush (If their really bad I use Wolf De-ironiser first)
Wash body work useing Auto Finesse Lather shampoo, Lambs wool wash mit, DoDo juice bucket with grit guards.
Rinse with an open ended hose.
Dry using Elite Ultra Plush Deep Pile Drying Towel and Megs last touch QD to disperce the water and to lube the towel.
Apply a layer of Werkstat acrylic Prime
Then several layers of Werkstat acrylic Jett, you can apply quite a few layers.
All rubbers and plastic trim are sealed with Auto Glym Vinyl and rubber care.
Wheels are sealed with Wheel Wax.
Apply Megs endurance tyre gel,
Clean windows with Auto Glym Fast Glass.
Then I start on the engine bay :D

On arrival at show's
Wash the car again and dry with QD, then apply a couple more layers of sealent.

Auto Glym HD wax and DoDo Juice red Mist also work very well on siver but dont use them together.
