Yeah, i've got a set of splines. I am right that the whole strut is removed? Hoping the suspension is going to be changed soon

Yeah you have to remove the whole front strut either to fit springs or coilovers - Bit of a pain in the Ibiza (especially drivers side due to the drive shaft) but it can be done.. I fitted my coilovers myself The rear you can get away with just removing the bottom bolt if only swapping springs, but for coilovers you obviously have to remove and swap the lot

With your big heated garage, you should do them yourself.
I've never had a problem with the drivers side although I know some folk do.

Yeah 4 hours is more than enough, the back can be done in an hour tops and that's if you're not sure what you're doing.

Exactly. I did my first set outside on the road in December lol.
If I had Ross' garage, I'd probably never go in the house again

Lol, might try the back ones myself first to see how i cope. Garage is currently full of old furniture etc. wish my parents would stop decorating! What tools are needed? I should actually get some axel stands rather than the jack made of playdoh!

If you can change a wheel, you can do the rears. Rear needs a 16mm socket and spanner.

2 bolts at the top of each shock to remove the mount from the car. 1 at the bottom. When it's off remove the mount from the shock (sure its 16mm too, mab 17) swap the top mount and rubber boot over and refit.

Springs just pull out when both shocks are removed

I don't use axle stands when doing the rears, because if you put them on the beam, you can't get the springs out and there's nowhere else decent to place them

Bottom front hub bolt is a M12 spline> if you cant get a hold of one you can use a good set of vice grips around the bolt... A have fitted 2sets now its pretty straight forward bud

Bagged myself a set from M6 through to M16 from Halfords at the weekend for £22.99.

Unfortunately I didn't buy it to fit coilovers

New dual mass flywheel, clutch kit, slave cylinder and rear engine mount fitted this week while i had the joy of a fiat punto. Thank christ it was all under warranty apart from the dmf which i only paid 30% of. Not impressed to say the least. At least it feels brilliant to drive again and the gears feel like new

Only things i've done recently is cupra handbrake cover, vent clips (thanks mick-fr) and pd160 air intake (thanks mick-fr). Getting my wheels done soon in dark grey and possibly getting coilovers.
