Dropped the car off at AmD this morning to have some work done. 10k service and a good health check. Noticed my coolant keeps emptying itself so asked them to looking into that as well as another small leak I have. Had a quick chat with the guys and they have checked the car over fully and found a few bits which they have recommended for me to look into getting done. Going to get qoute on the work tomorrow but I have already bent over for a good spanking!!!!

Never mind, all worth it as I ain't getting rid of the car and I know it's in good hands. Also after this the car should be set for several more years of healthy running me thinks

Good stuff pal :)

I recommend a smaller rear plate though! Tidies up the rear nice.

Gonna have to paint my wheels silver like yours, does look good.

Cheers mate :)

I want to get rid of the Leon badge to clean up the rear. Smaller rear plate.................never thought of doing that. Might do a quick photoshop to see how it looks!

I am still debating on what to do with the wheels, go dark or keep them as is. I like both looks so a bit stuck

What did they find EL ?

Nothing alarming, just bits they think I should start thinking about sorting.
  • May need to have the rad changed as the coolant leak is coming from around there, otherwise I will be forever topping up fluid
  • Some of the bushes in the axle look like they have started to wear
  • Leak from the side of the crank is from a gasket or hose, they need to confirm on this
  • Need new front tyres - found that out after the meet. Don't know how I managed to get through those so quickly
  • Front brake pads are 80% worn - wahooooo finally I can get rid of these crap Mintex pads :funk:

Nice one getting the service done mate.

All those bits are worth sorting in the long run. Mine will be having a check over aswell when the knock sensor gets done soon.

She'll be good for many more years yet mate.

Got a definite list of parts which need changing now:
  • Radiator
  • Left CV boot
  • Rocker cover gasket

Seen as these are parts which I can do myself and save some cash I have decided to tell the guys not to carry the work out. Need to also get two front new tyres plus my car insurance is up in a months time. Therefore only one thought comes to mind:

Slightly off topic but................I have been looking at car ramps as I am seriously struggling with my jacks to get the car in the air. Car is rather low as we can see so it is a bit of a pain to get jacks securely underneath. Any recommendations?

You can get lower jacks, low level ones got some at my work but couldn't tell you make or where they came from.

Cheers mate, was looking at those also. Weighing up my options at the moment. I have a jack and a set of axle stands. Just trying to figure out what will suit best

Looks like we in the same boat then. Inside wall of mine are completely gone. Ahh well I can't say I never had any fun with them :)

I don't mind driving it on some wood and then jacking it up but thought if I could get a good ramp it saves hassle etc
