Same got all sorts of stuff, quite like CG stuff alot too but bought a shampoo this summer from them was not impressed with though. Yeh I used it right (prob didn't help had old style absolute crap spray head on it where most it goes in the air not on the paint!). I am a member on detailing world I am sad and like when I buy any bits for the car thoroughly research what I want to buy on forums etc first!

I best get shopping for wax as I normally do a full on clean in Autumn that usually lasts well over winter time. Will investigate Collinite & Jetseal 109 then!

Where did you get your exhaust system made Jay? It sounds fantastic, exactly the sort of sounds im looking for.

I've got a Miltek DP and decat to go on at the end of the month. Just need to find a suitable back box. i absolutely love the youtube videos, sounds superb. You've completely sold it to me :)

How much did it set you back if you dont mind me asking? PM me if you'd prefer. :)

Cheers

Hello dude, sorry for the delay in reply.

Thanks for the words, took me months to decided on the setup I wanted but got exactly as I wanted in the end :). I just watched the vids again and I miss that noise.

I got it made up at a LongLife centre in Carshalton, Surrey. They've been in business years and reputation across local Suburu, Mitsi, VXR etc forums were all really good so I had no issure taking it there.

I had Pipewerx 3" DP, Pipewerx 3" 200cell Cat and then a non-resonated 3" cat-back with a little rear box. I'm unsure if I had the smallest rear box that they offered but it must have been close. I paid around £450 I believe due to it being full 3" but IMO it was worth it to try out something new and in the end, it paid off, also lifetime warranty. I'd actually like to see some new dyno charts for this in the Winter months, I only ran it in Summer but it was still insane.

Thanks for getting back to me Jay :) I will seriously consider them when i get my cat back, really like the sound of your custom set up. I've just purchased a Miltek 3" DP and decat, i plan to run it with the standard cat back until funds allow me to get the full system. Not sure how loud a full system will be with a full system... only time will tell.

PS we need more pictures of the Zimmer ;)

Mate I'm really sorry I missed you guys at AMD, I totally thought it was this weekend :(, what a nob haha.

Your Milltek DP & Decat mated to a custom system like mine WILL be pretty loud. Cold start was a little noisy at times but that was made worse living where I do with 3-story town houses for the rumble to echo off :D, normal driving is pretty tame with a little drone at 3000rpm/motorway but plant your foot down and the thing roared and screamed, backfire's on changes and sound absolutely lovely. I set out for that 'race car' sound and I got it, all while staying legal and playing by the road rules :), obviously your Decat is...cough* a little naughty.

As you might remember, I ran DP & Race-Cat on the OE system for quite a few months, no problems at all, big boost in low end power and an exhaust note that screamed under boost. Sounds OEM with a twist ;).

Pics of the Bimmer coming, I detailed her last weekend. Clay bar revealed it had NEVER been done, the bar was brown afterwards. A coat of polish, glaze, sealant & wax later and she's looking new. Plans for the early new year are a drop on H&R springs fitted to the OE Bilstein dampers, BBS LM's & a cheeky remap up to around 370bhp :). The jury is still out on Winter tyres, I'll see how I get on, hoping as I don't use it much I can save myself £600and potter to town on foot should it get that bad.

I'm aiming for something like this...

Don't drive it in icy conditions dude without winter tyres. Keep getting flash backs of my sisters car (120d M Sport Coupe) last time round when it got stuck up a hill and it took me and 4 other guys to get it up. Wasn't even that steep WTF!!!!

I would have been nice to have a look around your 335 at the AmD RR day, they’ll be another one in feb 2012. If you come along to that I’ll be sure to come and say Hi!

Thanks for the great explanation of your exhaust characteristics, I appreciate it. :D Custom is definitely the way to go.

I was supposed to get the DP & Decat fitted last night but it I was short of time so we agreed to do it on a weekend. While it was up in the air though I noticed that one of the brackets had snapped off, meaning the exhaust is now hanging lower than it should. It’s definitely seen better days, its pretty rusty. Perfect excuse to get a get a custom cat back.. just need to convince the OH it NEEDS to be done. ;)

PS get those pics up! :)

Spring isn't too far away so I will be continuing on the work with this little yellow beasty after taking it off Jay's hands last year...Just wondering if someone can help me out with advice: I've read the rules which say that it is one post per car..now that I'm the one with this car do I start a brand new readers ride post for future progress or can I re-name this one with Jay's permission, etc? If you are reading Jay, the car is still fine :)
Thanks, Dan
