Cheers guys & so happy to know the Leon is going well. I really missed her this weekend actually, we had great weather all weekend and days like that I'd take the Leon for a pleasurable B-Road blast to blow out the cobwebs. I can't compare the two cars at all, the Leon was fast & let you know it, this BMW is also but does it so smoothly you need to watch the speedo. Cornering has a different sensation, I am used to being pulled around a corner with the power under your feet but it feels odd in the new car turning in and then feeling yourself being pushed around from the back. Also the 6cyl twin turbo setup has grunt right from 1000rpm which is nice. People are confused about me I think, a BMW driver who gives way to people and drives within the legal limits? Shock lol.

Anyway, some other plus points about the car are factory fit FMIC & an oil cooler :). It's off into the garage this week for some warrantly work, I'm picky so getting every little potential niggles sorted.

Hey mate, i have only just looked at your RR, I have noticed you around the forum quite a lot, but not looked at your RR... I must admit, your LCR is amazing! You have taken real good care of it.. I have always been a fan of Beemers, and that 3series you have, is unbelievable.. Absolutely stunning! I bet you have had a right laugh in it over the last few days with the top down :D Have you started a new RR for the Beemer? Or are you going to? it would be good to track progress, and have a look at her after the detail and various mods :)

Anyways, good luck with the new car bud! And happy Drifting ;)

Hi dude. Thank you for the kind words :), she's still missed. The BMW is going great, she gets A LOT of attention, it's really really nice to drive and for a heavy lump she's very quick. I'll be starting a new RR soon, I'm hoping to do a deccent detail next weekend when the temps are down as it was too hot this weekend out in the sun to clean it. One that's done I'll have a page up :)

I hope my thread hasn't been so bad that it's made you want to sell your LCR :D. If you can afford to have both then that'd be great, I wish I could but it was a choice of one or the other (or walking/train for a prolonged period) and my career kind of forced it. I don't regret buying the BMW but I just don't appreciate it in the same way as the LCR, the BMW gets a lot of attention and is particularly popular with the girls but there's ALWAYS room for a Stage 2 Leon for those moments you just want to have fun.

Build thread to follow for the 335 but I'll keep this thread up here for anyone wanting read up on things that I did. Keep your eyes peeled for a new thread by ex888 for future progress :).

Hi lads & ladies.

Right, a little bit of an impulse buy here but last week I saw a 335i Convertible at a BMW dealer that I fell in love with. I picked her up on Friday and here she is! She's fully loaded with everything other than Sat Nav which isn't a great loss to me, it just screams refinement & luxury and that drop top is AMAZING. There are LEDs everywhere illuminating the door handles inside & outside, the leather trim on the door cards, the seats which I think is a great touch. You unlock the car and the halo lights come on, door handles light up and rear lights are on, there's also remote window drop and best of all, remote roof activation. I love my old Leon and I will forever but this is sure easing the pain. In terms of performance, she's a lot heavier than the Leon so probably not as quick but then again it's hard to get a sense of speed in this, it's just so well built, cocoon'd and quiet but drop the roof and that 6cyl turbo lump rips out of the exhaust.

Love it love it love it!

Standard performance is 306bhp & 300lb/ft.

Plans for it??

- Full detail next weekend
- Maybe a remap in a few months (370 - 380bhp possible)
- BMW Performance mufflers

With the addition of big FMIC & DP's I could wind this up to over 400bhp but I want to preserve the warranty really. Still, appealing though right? ;).

I spied her from the show room...

Very nice, two of my mates have these but coupes.

The faster of the two runs a jb4, intercooler, exhaust, lsd, intake and WMI. Estimated power is 420-450hp. Makes it quicker than a gallardo!

The JB4 figures look impressive, this is what I have been told by them...

The JB4 is a Plug and Play tune. Simply install and drive. BMS designed the JB4 for both hands on and hands off people.

Out the box this gives an extra 80 wheel horse power and 80tq on the default settings. Like I said install and drive.

Default will see around around 340 wheel horse power on MAP 1/5. MAP 2 with required downpipes 360-370whp. Add in the ETS FMIC and 380+. if you want more then add some race fuel and switch to the race Map for well over 400whp. These are wheel no crank figures :)

Bare in mind these are WHP figures so that's pretty impressive. I'm unsure what the transmission loss is but for RWD, approx 10%? So that 370bhp at the flywheel on a Stage 1 flash, 410bhp with DPs, 420bhp with DPs & FMIC, 450bhp with DPs/FMIC/Meth.

The internals are good for over 500bhp, no more 1.8T rod failure :D. I'm not sure what's needed for 500bhp though, I imagine hybrid TCs will be needed here and a better fuel system.

Edit: Hybrid TCs available with peak of 550whp, 600bhp at flywheel :D. Buuuuut, it'll never get there, Stage 3 420bhp at most for me.

You say that now, you never know, you might think what the heck and bolt on some hybrids. One of the lads is planning on fitting the loba hybrids!

But yeah these cars are seriously quick when fettled!

Yup, I made the move 2wks ago after popping into BMW for a 'browse' after a pub lunch, it was an expensive day :D. It looks like me, you, Strugers will be in the BMW corner at the AMD day.

Haha we'll see but it's very appealing. I'd not plan to track the car though as a cabrio is not the best starting point due to being a little less rigid but that said, the M3 cab manges well and is really good, with the roof up on the 335 there is near perfect weight distribution.

I'm about to do my first mod, called the Golf Tee. I'll be cleaning her up this weekend with some new products aimed at black cars and taking some pics so I'll explain all in my build thread over the weekend :).

poor boys black hole FTW!

That sounds almost perverted :D.

I've gone for some Chemical Guys Extreme wash/wax & Chemical Guys Synthetic Detailer as my Megs Gold Class & Dodo Red Mist had run out. My bottle of CG EZ Creme Glaze is almost out (was awesome on Yellow) so I was looking for a good glaze and the Poorboys seems to fit the bill well. The Collinite 476s wax is almost out too so although I love its shine and durability I was considering a change, Poor Boys Nattys Blue seems to pop up with good reviews so perhaps I'll try it. Other than that I'm still happy with the protection of CG Jetseal 109 of which I have plenty.

Your not a proper detail freak like me then or you would never think that! Only poor boys product I own but seen it used ot win show and shine as it 'fills' swirl marks.

I do not get red mist it does nothing IMO starting to think many of their products are overprices for what they do, my cheap Megs 16 paste wax is better than Dodo juice wax lasts much longer and easier to apply.

Need a new wax for winter really thou.

I'm a Chemical Guys fan personally but not one brand offers the best in all areas, well not this side of affordable anyway. Collinite, awesome wax that is mega durable and gives that wet look we love and Jetseal 109 cannot be disputed. Red Mist is great, were you using it right :p. I've not tried on a black car though, worked wonders on yellow but it's a sealant do should only be applied a couple of days after a wax coat really. The CG detailed looks promising though and can't wait to try it.
