Took the plunge and fitted the right-hand version of the Brodit Proclip with iPhone 4 holder.

The Proclip was a 2min job to fit - no problems there. The holder wa a bit fiddly - it has some pretty tiny screws to attach it to the Proclip. Got it on in the end though, but might be worth pre-drilling some pilot holes next time.

I bought the Active Pass-Through connector version of the holder and ran a 2m USB cable (ebay) from the holder to my Kensington LiquidAUX Bluetooth.

Seems to cope well with the relatively stiff suspension of the FR, no excessive wobbling or moving around. Really pleased with it and works brilliantly :D.

Looks good, I have the centre console Brodit holder in my Mk4 ibiza but it's a bit pants as I couldn't get the trim to part enough to get the holder to clip in securely so I had to glue it!!

Looking to get a mk5 soon so will be looking at Brodit holders. I have a Samsung galaxy S2 which is a bit bigger than the iphone 4 - do you think it'd be OK to get it in and out of the holder in that position?

Looks good.

I have one of these

quick, easy and can fit anywhere. Flexed the legs onto the air vents. I know its not hands free but for the sake of £3, its good ;)

Looks good! I've just got a cheap one from eBay!

I notice the dial surrounds are black, and the peak is black also. Can they be changed at all? Mine are grey.

I guess the only negative with the position of the holder is the access. Getting my iPhone in is OK but getting it out it can hit the A-pillar slightly if you're in a rush. I have the Proclip as far down as possible but there is a probably a few mm where I screwed the holder to the backplate to play with - I tried to avoid covering the vent as much as possible.

A mate of mine fitted the centre one to his Leon and had the same problems, apparently he used some kitchen utensils in the end!

I thinks that's a trick of the camera :) .. mine are grey too.

Really? Mine has been in the vents for the last month or so, if you slightly bend the end part then push it in it'll hook onto the inside, then close to vent down a bit and it should then bend itself.

thanks alot char :)
One ordered and on its way :p lol

I have a galaxy s, i found that if you turn the 2 middle vents upwards and inwards a bit, my phone sits perfectly in there :p, no use if you want to use the vents tho

Lmao, strange way to hold the phone! No worries :)

The spider podium is good though, if you get it and cant seem to get it to hold in the vents, i'll take a pic of mine.

I tried this morning to get it into the vents and my aux cable isn't long enough to reach the phone when it is that way. Ah well.

I play all my music from my phone and it's also handy if someone phones me, the call routes through the speakers.

A longer one would be a better idea right enough.

I think I will probably end up going with the centre console mount again on my new ibiza when I get it as I think the access will be too tight for my Samsung GS2 on the right hand fit one. I hope I don't end up having to glue it inplace again like I did on my current mk4 ibiza!! Still at least it won't foul the cupholder access on the new car like it does on my current one.

OK I got the centre console mount for my Mk5 and I'm happy to say I managed to get it fitted in only a couple of minutes, no problems with getting the gaps open like on the Mk4 on the centre console due to the Mk5's much more rubbery and grippy material.

I'll post some piccies up when I can.
