I have a VAG 908 cable , can anyone point me to the software that will work an 8xx.xx software says drivers out of date and latest version says not plugged into car :-(

engine does not need to be on...(optional really)
you can go into the settings page on vagcom and do a test on the usb port to see if its picking up the car.

Have you used the software that came with the lead or downloaded some, if you have downloaded some you may have killed the lead.

Ive got win 7 64bit the main Ross tech driver installs fine but Im left with another usb driver with a yellow flag. I cannot get this driver to update with any of the drivers on the disc. I have used it the cable with a old laptop with xp and it works fine but the battery has had it so its not ideal. Anyway has anyone got there win 7 64bit running ok?

Well got the cable from HK.
Works with VCDS when I test the port (Sees it as a Ross-Tech HEX - CAN USB Interface, but as soon as I connect the cable to the car and do the test it says Port: OK, Interface: Not found.
Any ideas? Using 106 cable with 10.6.4 VCDS.

So.... I bought the £80 cable from VAG-Diagnostics and it arrived today. The software is VCDS 10.6.4 and the cable is VAG113. Just been out and tested it and it all works really well. I've already enabled the needle sweep feature.
There are warnings all over the printed manual about not connecting to the internet whilst installing or running the software. It goes on to say that doing say may damage the cable. Sounds a little suspicious to me and might suggest that if you try and update the software it won't work.

I have bought the DHgate cable 10.6, just waiting for delivery from singapore/hk. But i have a few questions about using it.
Would the ignition need to be on? Does the internet need to be active too?
I know i might sound a lil dumb to this but seriously dont want to mess up anything when i get the cable.

Ignition needs to be on (and engine running for some functions). No need for an internet connection.
Hmmm...interesting, as it clearly states in the sales bumf that "Our CAN-HEX-USB VCDS cables are fully activated and registered with Ross Tech's VCDS 908, 912,10.6 and 11 Beta software".
