I've been trying to drive it a bit more softly lately in an atempt to save a bit of fuel, but that exhaust note really aint helping :D

Haha, that's what I tell myself too.... Although I'm driving mine like a granny because of the knock sensor until that's fixed, lol.

I was going to say you're exhaust sounded a bit different to mine and I'm wondering why, like a bit louder? Mine is defo non-res and the same construction to the turbo right?

I've just seen this 'Large Bore' downpipe and cat on the AmD site while looking for the bush kit:
http://www.amdessex.com/product.details.cfm?ProductID=11137&VariantID=48&ReferenceID=106966

They also have the 3" hi flow cat and downpipe but for alot less cash. Which I assume is my system. Any ideas about the large bore one mate?

Unfortuanly I the S&S did'nt go in my favour :(
The organisers put all the Seat's and Skodas in the same group, it was won by a Skoda Fabia which I did'nt see and 2nd place was a white LCR

I really wish the organisers of these shows would treat us Seats and evan the Skoda boys the same as the VW and Audi boy's. They picked 2 runners up and a winner for every Mk of Golf and all the other VW's and we get grouped in with an other brand and they only pick 1 runner up and 1 winner. Oh well !!!!

Any way the show was pretty good and it gave me a couple of ideas for next year.

Show Prep work

Wheels
Washed with Megs Gold class shampoo.
Insides and Brake calipers cleaned with EZ Detail Brush.
2 coats of Wheel Wax.
Megs endurance tyre gel.
Wheel arch's sprayed with AG Vinyl and Rubber care.

Body work
Washed with Auto Finesse Lather shampoo
Dried with Megs last touch QD
Window rubbers cleaned with APC
Werkstat acrylic prime, sealent prep
2 coats of Werkstat acrylic jett, sealent
All rubbers and plastics treated with AG Vinyl and Rubber care.

Show day
Washed and dried again with Auto Finesse Lather and Megs last touch QD.
another coat of Werkstat acrylic jett

Glass clayed with Sonus green clay and cleaned with AG Fast Glass

Engine Bay
I aint giving away all my secrets ;)

Cool pics mate!

Shame about the S&S, that's badge snobbery for you really.

We all know how good a car yours is so don't worry!

To be fair to the organisers you can't really go to a VW show in a SEAT and expect equal treatment! They've got so many categories to judge the last thing they'd want to do is create more!

I know where you're coming from though Daz, the thing is even if they did what you suggest you'd end up coming second to a manky old SEAT that's had loads of cash thrown at it, on bags and been done in bright colours. Yours is sooo clean, but it's on standard alloys with no spacers/camber/stance/poke/tuck/rake/sceneness. It's the car I'd want to take home, but from a "scene" point of view it's not what they give prizes to. Pity really, i bet it drives 10 times better than anything there. Anyway, trophies don't do much apart from collect dust ;)

Either way, the car looks stunning in those pics daz, shame I wasn't there to see it, must pop round some time and say hi.

Agree with comments, SEAT and Skoda are after thoughts and regardless of how clean/mint/perfection your LCR is it's not old enough to be appreciated running 'standard' if that makes sense.

Get a set of Comp Mo 18s, drop it within an inch of it's life and space it out more for show & shine and you'd walk away with trophies BUT do you want it that much to change how your car sits for the sake of 'what's in'... I'd keep it as it is because it's the thinking mans car ;)

Except the comp Mo's do that haha

For the record i'd have your motor tomorrow as I'm sure many many more of us would

I spoke to onr of the guys from Fastcar when I was leaving with regard to covering the rolling road day I've organised at AmD in October, He said it's not the sort of thing they do anymore, when I asked what it took to get a car in their mag he replyed you need big wheels and a re trimed interior, Kinda make you question why they are called "FastCar"

Any way I aint going to let it get to me, maybe I'll try some different shows next year with a bit veriety

This is going to take a lot of modding to get it to do what I want so progress might be slow

Mate don't worry about the mags and the 'scene-ness' for me it's all a bit pants compared to a tastefully modded, good looking, yet strong performing car..

Sitting there with the most impractical car isn't all that great when you want to blast it down a country road.

**** the "scene"... your car is work of art. You dont need a trophy to tell you that. If they're too retarded to see that then that their loss. Those cars are all show and no go, you car is stunner as well as a road weapon.
