Doubt it works on my 1.2 petrol though...

Might see if my Mum wants it done sometime on her A3.
How much does the kit cost?

Will work on your car i would have thought, there was a 1.2 'Freerider' model that came with cruise as standard so there must be a way to get it to work.

oh no man, whats up with it? You had your bro to look at it?

konked out on the motor way the other day after a short blast, just had no turbo, cut engine off and on and it was ok. my brother will look at it, he said it could be overboosting and the variable veins for the turbo might be the problem, but it may just have been a one off incident, it didnt feel like it was driving right earlier but seems fine now. i dno, hopefully was just a one off.

Well that sucks. Time for an upgrade?

perhaps lol

exact same thing happened to me about a year and a half back. About 4-5months later the veins started squeeky occassionally, performance seems as good as before but its hard to tell since it happened so long ago

Spray it with plus gas then kick its ass for a few miles.

If that doesnt work, theres a thing called innotec turbo cleaner, i've not tried it but it gets good reviews.

And if that doesnt work, you need to get it off the car and do it.

sounds like you're lucky Scotty, the turbo on my bro's fabia has just chucked it big style!

cars in at GI to find out how much damage has been done as his turbo destroyed itself and deposited metal fragments everywhere :( just hope he killed it in time before bits of turbo made it into the engine itself, otherwise he's looking at a minimum of the head having to come off to assess the damage :headhurt:

Intercooler would (hopefully) have caught a decent share of the bits, and any oil in the boost pipes would help to catch the finer bits.

I'd be looking for fine metal particles in the intercooler outlet piping as a (not good) indication....

i know its been all quiet here, been busy fixing the car after a mishap a month ago. not been cheap but getting there now. new hub and bearing awaiting fitting, along with new new front abs sensors.

brand new instrument cluster going in on tuesday at skoda to fix my dodgy semi working one.

and also got 312mm brakes coming...

shortly the front bumper will be getting number plate recess smoothed.

and then plans for next year porsche alloys on, coilovers, some tints and maybe a leather retrim. also on the lookout for a r32 steering wheel.
