The chances of the sensors blowing are very minimal mate. I wouldn't bother as each sensor is well over £100. My clutch started slipping straight away when the car was 6k miles old. But was ok after the initial test drive. The car had a stage 1 map previously for 2k miles. I have recently put an uprated sachs clutch in which has been a really good mod as it puts the power down straight away during gear changes. :) Your car will be fine. The one thing i would say is if you haven't had an oil change in the last few thousand miles. Get one done after the work is done.

His website http://www.audivwrepaircentre.co.uk/

Hope this helps, if he asks who sent you just say Graeme with the red leon fr. He services my car every year. My car has 23k miles now and hasn't missed a beat as far as the mod is concerned

Thought i would update this. Not a lot been happening at the minute. Had to get a set of new tyres (Michelin P-Zero Nero's). And had to pay my insurance. They wanted over a grand but got it down to £700.
Next on the list is an uprated S3 intercooler.
I have been very much in 2 minds with the car as far as keeping it or selling....
Now that Focus RS's are under the 20k mark in some instances they are very tempting. But then my sensible head comes on and the thoughts of fuel, tax, insurance etc etc.

Here's a few pics one i have found from the Crail day, and a couple after a wee wash and polish for just now :)

Car comes up really well Graeme ive been neglecting mine recently due to being away and the horrible weather we have had. I understand where you coming from on the selling up part im actually thinking about selling the Golf and getting a turbo again but running costs of the cars ive been looking at put me off.

Decided on a new s3 intercooler in the coming weeks. Have done a fair bit of research on this mod with mixed views. Have spoke to a few tuners who have said there is no question it will aid performance with charge temps being reduced. Extreme motorsports seem to think a 10bhp increase could be achievable but god knows. Gonna go for it anyway as will prolong the turbos life:D

waste of money m8 i hav monitored my charge temps

and at 4.5k rpm its only just hiting 39c max

and as soon as u change gear it drops dramaticly i doubt your goin to get any gain at all

i had a 306 hdi standard map put the front mount on and no difrence at all untill i had the remap 150 bhp :)

but still for the amount of money i wouldent waste ur time unless u plan on a big turbo and injectors i was planing on those parts but as u no the injectors are a no go

+1 save the money and put it towards a cupra (i paid just under £16k for a 60 plate) lol. And I came from a DE-DPFd leon. FL Cupra is miles better than the Pre FL FR in all areas apart from MPG department lol. The cupra is also faster and since my REVO map its crazy (god knows what STG 2+ is like).

I lost faith in my DE-DPFd leon in that if felt fast but actually it wasnt any where near what JBS quote. When compared with other cars of the same BHP it was getting left behind in terms of performance for being in the region of 230bhp (will full milltek) it certainly didnt match the performance of the equivalent petrols. And since getting the Cupra I can now verify that it wasnt close to the performance of a standard cupra.

Nah i don't really fancy the cupra after having my car. Fancy something a bit different. Between my car and my mate James's cupra there is nothing in it. Dunno about top end right enough......

love this 230 bhp figure that jbs drilled into every ones heads

more like 215 max

u just hav to think its fast for a derv and dont compare it to a petrol and it also shows up a large amout of petrol cars also

+ the mpg. Yer its not amazing but a petrol car with about the same power u can take atleast 10mpg off

think my next upgrade will be the smf was looking into alloys and a new front bumper but mechanical side needs to come first
