Hi Darren,

Hope all is well? The car is looking very together. How's the front splitter holding up? The bay is stunning as always! Did you decide against the S3 washer/coolant cover in the end? Shame really; seems as if you had the fitment right with the extended piece. What are your thoughts for those (me) that might still be thinking of this?

James:)

The front splitter is doing very well, it's still in one piece and theres no scuffs on the the paint :D The only slight problem with it is the paint has cracked where it joins the carbon, I'm hopeing the get the car booked in soon to get a few other little bit's done.

I was'nt happy with the finish I got with the engine cover, TBH all it needs is a rub down, another coat of clear resin and then re lacquiring.
I'll finish it one day :D

Doesn't look as if it would take much more to get it to 'D.K.' standards. Looks great and the surrounding edge looks to be spot on! What are your thoughts about the S3/TT battery cover? I would imagine that this would need quite a bit of work to get it sitting flush?

Stunning as always mate :)

Can anyone point me in the right direction, to a HOW TO GUIDE, wrapping items in 3m carbon look sheeting ? In particular trying to wrap bends, curves etc

There's no guides on here that I know of.
When I use the 3m stuff I do it this way,
Clean the surface with IPA cleaner, make sure it is completely clean otherwise you'll get airbubbles behind the vinyl,
Cut vinyl to rough size,
Gentle warm surface with a hair drier,
Apply vinyl to surface, warming the vinyl will help it stretch around the bends and corners, be carefull not to heat it too much as it can stretch too far and loose it's stick, it can also go brittle if over heated.

What are you thinking of wraping Phil ?

Im just going to have a mess about with my track car ( pug 205 ), going to start with something relatively simple , the GTI and 1.9 badges, so no jagged edges just a flat surface which curves.

I had what felt like limp mode last weekend, whilst driving round the M25 I put my foot down in 5th gear and it felt really gutless, did it again and watched the boost guage and it only went round to about 10-11 PSI  so I pulled off at the next exit, switched it off and restarted it, the went straight beck to boosting upto the normal 19-20 (ish)PSI.
t0m very kindly offered to scan it for any errors to see where the problem was and there was nothing in the memory, very strange  the car has been fault less since.

Whilst we had the laptop out t0m also did a throttle body reset, the laptop said it was'nt too far off where it should be and TBH I could'nt feel any difference but it somthing I've been meaning to do for a while :D

Thanks t0m :D

I've also had a problem with the RARB bush's moving into the center of the bar

A while ago I was getting a creaking from the RARB so I re-greased the bush's, I think I might have put too much, so I took them both off again and cleaned them and the brackets up and put a small amount of grease on them and wait and see what happens.

If the weathers good I'll be off to players at North Weald next Sunday so hopfully I have some more pictures to post :D

No worries for earlier mate.

Keep your eye on the boost and if it happens again, give me a bell and if I'm about, just pop it over while it's still fresh on the car and I'll check it out.

Might be an intermittent prob, might be nothing.

Car looked good earlier and sounded very sweet.

I've been trying to drive it a bit more softly lately in an atempt to save a bit of fuel, but that exhaust note really aint helping :D
