The heat-shield above the cat decides it doesnt want to be part of the car anymore.

Haha! Mine's trying to wiggle itself free too, few clips need replacing. Going to vagcat it soon I think, order a new one and new clips.

Mine had dropped slightly at the front and sometimes used to rub on the exhaust downpipe at certain rpm's. I just pushed the shield up at the front slightly and it's been fine since, although a heated gearstick does sound appealing for winter!

its alot nicer then having your hand on a freezing cold knob.

Oh yes the dreaded Ibiza heat shield. Mines been rattling like a ******* since 19K miles! It's on 64K now..

Update... the Ibiza has failed its MOT .

Only failed on an excessively corroded brake pipe on the offside. Going back in on Monday to get it fixed. Apart from that it passed on everything else which Im happy about.

Thats good news think when i had it on the mazda it was £30.00

I'd take that every MOT.

I've been lucky on the last 3 and not needed anything

Tbh I am happy with it just failing on that, I was half expecting it to fail on the emissions or them to find something alot worse wrong with it.

Got advisories for the rear wheel bearings aswell having slight play but I those were new a few months ago so I think something just needs alittle tighten.
