I have black (obviously) and like Sam says, when its clean, I dont think that there is any other colour to touch it. But it is a pig to keep that way, and if you have defects in the paintwork, then it shows up so much when it is sunny. When I was first looking, I really wanted a platinum grey one, as it was a nice compromise, but saw mine, and the rest, as they say, is history :)

Oh and nice one for putting your name down for the AMD meet chap, will be good to see you there. Are you putting her on the rollers?

To be fair lads, there both cracking cars, which is the nicest, hmmmm, I can only liken the descision to having a threesome with Eva Mendes and Nicole Scherzinger and trying to decide which one to do first, either way your on a winner.

I'm not 100% yet (I've got the money:D) just need to decide if I spend it on a trip to AMD how much longer I would have to wait to get enough funds for coilovers, top mounts and spacers.

It would be good to meet everyone and yes if I do come down the car will be on the rollers:D

Now to my primitive tuning mind the logs look ok, intake temps are similar and the CF isnt excessively high. However a second opinion would be appreciated, also is there anything else I should be logging?

Next month I should have coilovers (AP's or Weitec Hicon GT's) and 15mm and 10mm spacers to go on the car. Also I'm hoping to get the wheels refurbished, probably bright silver but still undecided as to whether or not to go darker (although darker has been done alot).

Car may be back on the rollers on 18/09 at Motoscope to see how its running.

Would have been interested to see what figures you were pulling on block 003 with very little timing pull
003 is MAF readings and a good indication as to what power you are pulling without using a RR
MAF g/s divided by 0.8 = BHP (a close indication)
You may want to check that when you have time and compare it with the RR result

I'm going to leave the car at timing 8 and see how it runs. Next time I get a chance I'll log 003 to see what I get.

Just thought I'd mention for any interested parties, I'm trying to get Jetex to make some Red filters but need a minimum order of 25, if your interested stick your name on here.

It has been a couple of months since I was last on here; just enjoyed reading the last eight pages of progress you've made with her! It's really come on; coilovers would finish her off nicely. Really like the honeycombe grills. Not sure why we got slats originally; it looks so much better this way... hmmm... on the list I think!

The engine bay is looking great! You know the red vac pipe that feeds off the manifold, that half moons the inlet silicone pipe leading to the charge pipe (left front - that you've fitted with the non-return valve)? Do you think there is a way to disscretely relocate this? Mine is still the standard vac pipe and I've never really liked its position (spoils the Forge hose). Personal tastes of course, but thought I would ask what your thoughts were?

Haven't tried Megs' tyre gel. I use Megs' tyre shine spray, which I guess is much the same but might have to try the gel next time round; like the gold class range a lot!

Although mine remains on its original map (cough), I get the impression dyno lottery is something of a common issue. How does it feel on the road now it has a stage two map on it? I'm interested as this is something I should have done a long time ago. Is it still running healthy?

In reply to a question you asked me, yes it was Hammerite Smooth (brush on); masking would have been a nightmare to get right around the hub/disc area. A couple of coats gave it a nice smooth finish without brush marks. Hope this helps?

Good to hear from you mate.

If your not wanting to remove the PCV system you possibly could do it as follows.
The pipe the vac line is attached to on the left side of this pic:

this runs straight up to the back of the bay, you could replace all of it run it under the charge pipe and behind the manifold into the pipe marked below:

If you are removing the PCV you could run the vac pipe as above and then straight into the U shaped pipe coming out of the manifold.

The car feels great on the road, as I say hopefully it'll be back on the rollers on the 18th at motoscope to see what it gets on their Dastek rollers. I definately recommend the Revo map, also recently with me wanting to tweak it abit they have offered great customer service, answering all my emails promptly.

Thanks for the reply on the Hammerite, I've just bought some smooth red to do the Brembos and think i will get the silver to do the same area you have. Definately get the honeycomb grills;), as you said its hard to understand why our lower grills are honeycomb and uppers are slats:confused:

Coilovers are getting ordered on Wednesday and I've just ordered 16mm and 11mm forge spacers:D cant wait to get it all on, then the wheels will be getting refurbed.

Thanks for that Richard!

You'll be really happy with the 'flushed look' once the spacers are fitted. The rears at 15/16mm is perfect, as is the front at 10/11mm; the position of the wheels looking dead on is great! Reassuringly, it has been my experience that the rears at 15mm doesn't cause any rubbing on the outer painted arch, even with a drop of 30mm or so. Seen some horrible results of paint being ripped away...

I've recently had water sitting on the door sills so before I started getting water in the car I decided to reseal the doors following this guide

The seal had gone in the same place on both front doors, just under the speaker:

I used exterior silicone sealant.

I've also recently bought:
Smooth Red Hammerite Spray to refurb the Brembos
New Brembo Decals
Black paint and clear lacquer to get the front splitter and rear bumber valance so they match the front grills.
I've also bought some more neoprene ducting to finish off my airfeed from the fogs and some more red trim for the heatshield for where I'll need to cut the hole for the airfeed.

I just need to find some time to do everything now:D
