VERY easy. Literally get some wire/paper clip, push it into the hole, then wrap the other bit around the threaded bit of metal (under rubber bung thing)

No worries. Might be worth noting, I used some old speaker wire I had lying about and that didn't work. So you may need to try a few different bits of wire etc. Or just use a metal paperclip like moi :D

hmm.. having a problem getting this to work. after reading this i thought i'll get one of those cables and it will be easy enough to install, but i was wrong. i have tried two of these aux cables and ofcourse earthed them to the screw behind the rubber bung thing from pin 14 and no luck just flashes up changer. ive noticed that one of the cables has a connection between pin 13 and 15 is this needed? any ideas???

What are you using for the earthing wire? Might wanna try a metal paper clip to be sure its not that wire. I had the very same problem....

Do you have anything else connected up to it? Mine had a phone handsfree mic and aerial etc wired in, so I had to remove that first. Bit of a long shot to be honest but you never know!

Mine wasn't directly, there was a little black converter type box which both the radio and hands free thing plugged into. I wasn't using mine so I removed it and then it worked but since you're using yours you can't really do that I guess!

Hi. I have an identical problem. I've earthed the wire with the radio working and the aux-in worked. But when I switch off the car more than 1 or 2 minutes, it stops working. Just flashes up "charger" and then back to radio. I have to disconnect all, and do it all again. I've tried different places to earth the wire, but always happens the same.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Had mine in for about 8 months, removed it to check my dodgy aerial connection and re-connected it as before, now it isn't working :| quite annoying now, so i've only got CD option now.
