Who/how did you polish your charge pipe, it looks very nice, i still have a few little marks on mine that i just cannot get out without going mental with a grinder on it.Very nice minor polish on yours.

I actually have no idea Rob, I bought it local ages ago when we had a For Sale section here. I think it was his own DIY job TBH, not perfect but it's ok.

Just another quicky while I'm here and a cr@p picture but I dropped the car again :D.

Update: Crash Bar Has Arrived

Hi all,

A significant step forward in the quest for Stage 2, my crash bar has arrived. I was going to make this myself with my Dad but we couldn't get hold of the equipment quickly enough so me, being impatient just bought one at a bloody good price :). I also got many quotes from welders who were a little cheaper but at least this way I get to keep my OE bar & have a complete Forge kit for not a lot extra. In total, if I take away the prices of the parts that I have sold on, I have a Big Race cooler kit for a little over £300 :).

This weekend I continue the quest for my phantom boost leak & hopefully get this fitted if I am lucky...I wonder if the leak might actually be in the intercooler pipe work, I have checked everywhere else that is visible . Keep your fingers crossed for me!

P.S. Split-R has now been sold on, I needed to rule it out as a cause of a leak. Sadly it wasn't but I'm quite a considerable sum better off :).

Good going dude. With regards to your leak. Have you checked all electrical wires? My car once decided to go completely flat like it seems to be with you and after looking for ages and doing several boost leak tests I gave it to AmD who then found my connection to the N75 valve was loose. Silly little thing but that was it

Thanks for that mate, I've tried unplugging the N75 connector and replugging it but it made no difference but I'll try to trace the wires too. Appreciate the info :)

I popped home at lunch and HAD to see if the cooler fitted the bar :D, it's huge huh.

I soooo want that fmic!! I'll give you £350? ;)

Haha, maybe when I sell the car eh? :p

Why did you get a replacement crash bar for your intercooler?

You need a modified bar to hang the Forge Big Race Intercooler from, it's far too large to fix anywhere else or fab up anything on that 'X' shaped bar like custom installs normally do. Unlike the normal Forge kit, the mountings are on the top of the Big Race cooler so you have to kind of hang it rather that bolt it flat to something.

cars looking good.

dont know how you have managed to wait this long to fit it.
The day i collected my forge race front mount i was out in the dark fitting it! lol
hardest part of fitting the whole thing is removing the front bumper.

Chris I am dying to fit it but the bumper is an issue as I can't get the car off the groud far enough at home so that I can unbolt the undertray. If I could do this, I'd be on the case tonight. Where are all the fixings from the bumper by the way?

its easy to get it up in the air using this method. thats how i used to do mine when it was down low on coilovers. up on brick then trolly jack under.

With the under tray - I dont think i even took this off to remove the bumper, you just have to undo the couple of screws that actually hold the under tray onto the bumper.
