I'm guessing your attempt was on the M77

Nah, going up through barrhead on country roads at 60mph until i got to barrhead and it was slow traffic all the way to glasgow with traffic lights etc. Found myself getting really pissed off if the lights changed and i had to wait looking at the mpg decreasing by the second :(

Yeah annoying isn't it lol, All your hard work goes away to nothing. Or when your bored and put the foot down a bit for some fun, it drops like a stone then too :(

Ouch! Take it you no longer own that then ha ha?

No, although I wish I did. I've promised myself another one sometime.
You could get 25mpg if you were careful

I remember going from dreghorn to Ayr shore to Kilwinning once and using £50 worth of petrol. And that's back when petrol was below a quid a litre

Isn't growing up boring

Aluminium bodies mean no rust and since the engines pack up regularly, can usually get the odd bargain. Old cars are the best. And I don't consider a car that was made until 2000 even remotely old. You want to see my old 1979 mk1 lol.

No fancy computers and sensors which are usually the cause of the break downs/problems in the first place - i agree. Mk1 Ibiza? how many cars you got lol?

You win mate, Its too boring driving like that :p

You guys and your mpg computers... it's an option I don't really want, it'll just make me drive like a granny all the time!

It is pretty good to see what your doing, mine regularly sits around 60mpg, and thats just normal driving. I tried to increase it as above, which is do-able, but its so boring!

Getting new tyres fitted on saturday - Toyo T1R's, going on the back so should last quite a while compared to them being put on the front, hopefully cut down some road noise from the Pirelli P Zeros that are on it at the moment. Car needs a good clean but the weather sucks just now!

You had Toyos before? I picked the RainSport 2s over them purely because the reviews on the T1Rs were varying massively!

Weather here has been horrendous too, somehow though my car really has stayed quite clean... I don't know how it's managed it! It's stayed so clean I don't need to wash it this weekend. :)

I've had rainsports on my old car and they were good compared to the budget **** that was on it beforehand. I had alot of difficulty finding rainsport 2s for a decent price/timescale for fitting last time my tyre burst so thought i would just try something different.

Got new tyres fitted today, advised that NSF alloy wheel has major buckle. Tbh, i don't understand how it can be 'major' as there is no knock on effect of the buckled wheel. It's been put on the back just now until i decide wether i'm going to fix it or not. Pissed off at this as i have been avoiding all bad patches of road and potholes strictly as i'm concerned that it's going to end up damaging the suspension as well.

Cleaning the car today and noticed this thing on outside of the car underneath. Looks like some kind of radiator?

Also can across a problem that will need to be looked at. Does anybody know where the oil is spilling from?
