I am also sorry for waking up an old thread. I currently have a device that plays music files through the head unit. i got it from xcarlink at about £80. you still have to put up with the terrible sound from the standard HU, but its better than being stuck with a tape deck.

I fitted 2 6x4's and a small sub in the boot by using the high level input from the rear speakers into an amp and set it up that way to get better sound.

Slowly working on fitting an aftermarket CD player in the centre console somehow as i got a nice unit for christmas and not sure where to start

you can run a headunit under the steering wheel bit of cutting but is the easy way of running a better headunit just a case of splicing under the power and speaker cables

chris, I actually dont like you right about now ... thats my idea of perfect

However, not a clue where to start, saw some threads where I would of had to cut away at the circuit boards in the headunit and it quite scared me so thats as far as i got

Urgh, I've just done this, except I'm have problems with the wiring, anyone know which plugs are needed to have the screen on and control the aircon? I needed the black and brown plugs for my DVD player.

Also does anyone know how to attach the 'ebrake' cable to the brake switch? (to get my screen to work.

Just need to earth the cable to get your screen to work....done that many years ago! i earthed mine to the bracket holding the clutch pedal (megane Coupe at the time)

ARGHHHH!!!! Now I have another problem, my battery died whilst the radio was on, now I think it needs a code which I don't have, Does anyone know how to get it from the serial numbers?

No, it was my new radio, but its sorted now. I think the fuse has blown on my screen thing though, can someone please describe to me where this fuse box actually is? I see a lot of posts which state 'under the dash' but me being not so mechanical, I have no idea where to look? :S
