Had the car all corner weighted again yesterday at Avia Autos, since last time when the car came in at 998kgs. I've had the inner door skin cut out and the crash bars removed as well as my dog gearbox and shifter (not sure if that adds or removed weight lol).

The new weight with half a tank of petrol is now 983kgs!

Didn't get a pic on the scales tho, silly me :(

Thanks Dave, that 106 was stupidly quick fair play! Did have a quick chat with him as he was waiting to go on for another session. What's been done to it? Could hear it was on bodies but that's all I know.

Hi Dave
I've seen the snot at Combe at most of the actions days over the last few years and was supremely impressed yesterday
I spent to he day wondering how it was making so much speed and seemingly punching above its weight. I listened hard every time it passed to hear the whistle of a turbo lump but couldn't.
However having spent my lunch hour reading 3/4 of this thread i now understand.
Speed clearly comes from attention to detail, strong passion and a shed load of cash!

I did a session in my 8v as well and was impressed at how well it coped, all apart from the heat shield vibration which when giving it full power for long periods of time (most of a lap at combe!) managed to make the entire cabin vibrate!

Top work indeed, theres a video on Briskoda.net from onboard an Octy VRS (black with green trim) which started directly behind you in one session and you were long gone well before Quarry!!

You've got me thinking that the 8v doesn't really NEED it's interior :)

PastyBoy... Thanks a lot fella, I think every mod I have done I have been out to Combe and by far the best is this gearbox with the plated diff, speed that I can carry in corners is great and I don't think I'm driving it to the full potential yet... Will need some more practice lol.

If you can link the video on here so I can see it, usually spend the next few weeks scanning youtube for videos from other cars.

I did have a nice spin under late braking going into the esses where I almost hit the barrier on the inside of the first corner but ended up on the grass.

I wanted to go out again with that Will so I could follow some lines but when I spoke to him he was going out for his last one! Very impressed with him

I'd post the link but i'm still too new to put URL's in posts :(

The vid isn't tht useful other than confirming you go into maximum attack from the off.

Even being luminous green you are only visible for about 35 seconds and 20 of those you are sat still in the pits :D

Won some new alloys off eBay the other week. Nice set of OZ Racing Super T WRC's 16x7" ET37, funny enough these were the rims I was after before I had the Compo's but because I couldn't get them in 16" I went with the Compo's at the end.

BUT

I had a company do to collect them "Paisley Freight" they collected 4 alloys from the seller and I had 3 alloys delivered! Was told they could be in a different cage but now it's been 3 weeks and a few phone calls and emails sent and there is no sign of the missing alloy!!!

Was going to have my Goodyear F1's fitted to these, get my Compo's sprayed up again and fit the Kumho V70's again and then use the OZ rims with normal raod tyres for any wet trackdays.

MOT is up on the snot now so will be sorting that in the next few weeks, hopefully it should pass.... there isn't any more old parts left on the car I'm sure! :)
