Does that mean the new law won't comply to a 57 plate then? So it will still pass the MOT without the DPF?

This is interesting - but come 2012, how will EVERY MOT Tester in the country (many of which dont even specialise in SEAT / VAG cars) remember come MOT time, to check the DPF filter ?

Mines an 07, so I'll still be good to (DPF) go! :D Just waiting for things to settle, and the "DPF Delete" procedure be a task most tuners can do in their sleep - with no repercussions. :)

Easy! The same way they dont forget to check Cat's on Petrols or Check wiperblades

It will be on the list of stuff to check, DPF's arent just a VAG Thing theve all got them now, PUG call them FAP's

VOSA couldnt say tommorow, Right we are going to lower the smoke limit of all 58+ Cars to 0.1 instead of 1.5, The car simply wouldnt pass!

It all sounds so simple. Almost keyhole surgery! :D

Again, the only real test with such a procedure is long term, how the car behaves / also how the ECU responds with no DPF Filter!

Do they supply a full replacement pipe that you can swap in/out with the DPF pipe or, as I probably imagine for the price, do they simply cut out the DPF and weld in a new pipe?

Researching the website more - They actually cut a big square plate out of your exhaust system, where the DPF filter is.
Then remove the filter, then weld the plate back onto your exhaust, to seal it up again, leaving a void in your exhaust system, where the filter used to be !

- So yes, I imagine any dealer would know something had been done pretty quickly, with the obvious tell-tale welding work around the exhaust pipe (if you are concerned about warranty).
- No option for replacement pipe, or interchangable piece of exhaust / DPF filter.

Theres a handful of pictures on the website that shows this process.

Still, for the price, it gets the job done (rids you of your DPF filter), looks a pretty neat job + you get your car remapped in the process. :)

RR graphs needed to back up your figures

urs is 07 or 57 tho isnt it? yours will have been tested at 2.5 limit rather than the new 1.5 limit for 58 plated cars

its a 08 plate. the smoke meter reading had Limit: 1.5 on it and my reading was 0.1

Em! If you want to sell your car you probably need to state that the DPF has been removed. I dare say that the DPF cannot be put back?

Had mine replaced by *** in Chesterfield and kept the original part just in case I wanted to sell the car later! Its simply the matter of replacing the part and re flashing the ECU with the original software! Around 2 hours worth of work!

Also I did do a little research and there is a website chi*tuners that had flagged ecuflas* dont know why but thats what I read!

Just my two pence!
