Hi

I've had my car at a local garage to look at a slow puncture I've got on the NSR on my FR.

They've advised that the integrity of the tyre is fine, but the slow puncture is still there as there isn't a good seal from the tyre to the alloy. They've cleaned it all up but the they can't make the seal.

I was given a number by them for a company in Kirkcaldy called Finishing Touch who should be able to deal with refurbishing the alloy to resolve the issue.

I've checked with Star Performance and whilst they've heard of them they've not heard anything about how good they are.

Has anyone used them or can recommend someone in the area to help us out? Any idea how much this kind of thing normally costs?

Cheers

Not sure about them, but I went to Chameleon Metal Coatings in Glasgow. It's a bit of a trek (I drove from Aberdeen) but if you can get the car to them first thing in the morning, like 9am and leave it with them they can do all four in the day. I got the call that the car was ready about 4pm. Same day, drive-in/drive-out service and I was £200 to get mine done. The missus was happy to have the day shopping in Glasgow too :)

Cheers for the responses fellas - Star Performance mentioned a place in Glenrothes, but they weren't that impressed with the work done. Not sure if it'll be the same place.

I notice that The Wheel Specialist are opening a new branch at the Gyle in Edinburgh this month so that could be a go-er.

Just a wee update for y'all.

The guys at The Wheel Specialist have been really helpful - good advice and quick responses to enquiry. I've been quoted £312 to refurb all 4.
The Edinburgh branch is due to open within a couple of weeks.

Cheers
