Options for changing front windscreen wipers?

Hey guys,

I bought a black Cupra 20V T a couple of weeks ago and am making small and cheap changes to it just to bring the best out of it.

So far I have painted the calipers, replaced the cracked front grills, am going to get the alloys repaired (can't afford for my insurance to go up if I changed them), and changed the rear wiper for the Fabia one.

This brings me onto the thing I want advice on. I love the Fabia wiper, it was cheap to do as well as looking much nicer and working much better than the standard Leon wiper. Are there any options like this to change the front wipers? I had a quick look on here a couple of weeks back and couldn't find anything. I would want some that's about £60 max for the total of the 2 wipers, ones that work as good as the Fabia one and if possible ones that have the same styling as the Fabia one.

Anybody got any ideas?

Also any other cheap changes I can do to the car that won't effect the insurance is welcomed.

Cheers

If you want to change them for something more effective, but staying cheap, you can simply swap the blades with some Bosch Aeroblades (about £25 a set from GSF). They fit straight on to the standard arms, so no messing around. Failing that, its whole new arms and I 'think' that'll be more than you £60 budget...

Yeah I am more worried about the look of them.
I meant I just didn't want to change them for something that looks great but works worse.
Hopefully looking for something similar to the Fabia rear, which was a cheap change and looks miles better

Same situation here (kind of). I am getting a set of the Bosch Aeroblades - think they look a lot better than the standard wipers, and they are apparantly very effective.

Fair enough. I think, from reading threads on here, the later Mk4 Golf arms with the Aeroblades are a direct fit. Try using the search function - you'll defiantly find something about it! :)

I did do a search but most wiper searches clear up with the rear wiper leaking problem and other problems. Will have a search for golf changes, cheers

Definitely got to be the Aero ones out of those two images, but still not 100% sold, doesnt look as good as the Fabia wiper does on the back.

Anybody else got any ideas for different wipers?

Cheers

Hmm, I really don't like the look of them though! Is there a cover you can get for them to make them look nice? =\

Hmm, I will have a think about it then. When my wipers start getting streaky (are actually cleaning quite well at the moment) then I will replace them.

Thanks for the advice.

If anybody has any other ideas for types of wipers that will for please let me know.

Cheers

I got Aero blades direct from SEAT for mine, I just asked for AERO CONVERSION. They basically look like Golf Aero's but no need to cut down the passenger side one which many you have to do.

How similar do they look like them? Do you have a pic? Would be great to see.

Am really tempted to get a set of the aeros after a day of thinking.
Also how much do they cost? Do you just need the blades replacing or the whole arm? Cheers

I got a set of the Bosch Aeroblades recently and they are so good I had to clean the inside of the windscreen to match the outside!

Iv never had golf aeros so haven't seen them in person. I don;t know how much they cost exactly as I got them at trade price through by brother, but they weren't expensive. It's just replacement blades :)

Heres a couple pics but not great.
